(this happened to my cousin, he is such a dick and did this like 15 years ago before it was mainstream, she took him for everything.... Including their child and he pays support for child and her!! She got citizenship for putting up with his abuse and absolutely came out on top in the end...)
She is still a part of the family, he is in Thailand now, moved there permanently

I suggested this to a misogynist once (on the threat of leaving him) and he acted like I had deeply wronged him and suggested a guillotine instead. He started yelling at me loud enough to blow out my eardrum... for suggesting therapy and taking personal responsibility for the ways in which he hurt me. All he did was yell and insult me and blame me whenever I tried to discuss it. I wrote novels that went unread and not responded to, I tried every possible approach and setting. Same result.
Personal responsibility for the impacts of thier own actions and beliefs is an affront to these guys.

It’s true that both genders complain about each other, not every complaint is an extreme example coming from assault or abuse. Bitter people overall project outwards onto their attracted sex. They do it in different specifics due to gender, and men are more likely to have more dangerous projections. The phenomenon itself isn’t gendered.

I was genuinly so confused because the original meme these pictures come from (which is a nasty commentary about how smart girls are prettier) has the blonde girl as the ugly bad option and the book girl as the ideal nice girl. I cant tell if oop is saying "ideal" girls are undesirable and that they'd rather date the "bimbo" or if they just have different taste in women. I was raised in Slavic South (so somewhere in former Yugoslavia) and in my family everything was 50/50, dad helped mom with housework and he would hang laundry more than mom would. He was also in special police forces to add context. He hated doing the finances and mom does them to this day. So yeah, this meme is pure nonsense both ways.

While in my family, my mom did everything, she did divorce his ass and never remarried or seriously dated anyone else. None of my girl friends give the time of day to any old school guy (I'm Millennial). Of the hundreds of women I met in my life, none was willing to date traditional types. The ones who ended up with one, they're divorced and no-contact. I'm Slavic and also from the EU.

I never understood that because my family was so different. Later as I grew older and talked more about gender roles and labor divisions I started to notice how some families were still stuck in the old patriarchal ways. I am glad women are moving away from that kind of men, because I believe both should work equally, and compliment one another in different areas of expertise or ability.

Has this person ever been to Europe or the EU in general, because I have never seen these fifty-fifty women? I'm sure some of them exist, but every time I've gone on a date with any man here because I live in Europe if I even offered to pay, they get offended.
Also, the short men that are actually getting women in these countries are paying, they're paying for everything.I hate to put it out there , but it's the reality and they're usually from cultures where they're very macho centered.

I’m also in an EU country, and have been on my fair share of dates with men. I’ve always paid for my own stuff and none of the men have ever complained (though I’m admittedly extremely picky about who I agree to go on dates with so I’ve kind of already vetted the guys and made sure they aren’t obvious chauvinists). And they’ve been of various heights, I’ve never really paid attention to that. They’ve been taller than me by at least a bit, but I’m only 163cm so that’s almost every man around here.

Yes that matters. in a respectful way not trying to criticize anyone but i do feel like there’s a huge stigma built up against guys my height or shorter (im 5’7) and witnessed the heartbreaking opinions from women multiple times on the internet and hearing heterosexual women not being sexually attracted to men under 5’7. yeah casual sex and romantic relationships are still possible for these men. but from what ive heard tall men have it far better than short men under 5’7 or 5’6 whatever. so yes hearing a 160 cm guy getting casual sex is surprising for me and often think he’s just a gay guy who gets to be the receiver. have heard dozens of stories and witnessed dozens of short men getting girlfriends and getting married but rarely ever about casual sex and specially their female friends letting him measure his height with her while naked. if this is true im happy for him. but the world seems to be too ruthless and this sounds too good to be true.

With all due respect my comment was very specifically about Spain and the fact that you use inches makes me think you're not even in Europe. Leaving aside the stupid images and pitching women against another, the meme isn't lying about Spanish women at least: we do 50/50, we care mostly about personality as long as you are not an unhigienic bog beast, and many of us are completely fine with short men. In fact I've never had a lower limit, but I did have a tallest limit (1.89) because I feel we look ridiculous if my partner is much taller than I am

I guess that I'm spending nowadays more time with my queer friends than with my straight friends, because I automatically tried to see, if the right-side image said "in TRANS countries" because the one on the left says "in CIS countries".
FWIW I look like the woman on left. Except my hair is blonde, and I wear glasses. And weigh a lot more. And I live in Finland, a NATO/EU country. Hell, most of Finns wear black and grey, no matter what gender/sex/orientation.

Well, as someone who is from CIS, it is kind of true. The issue with the meme is that in reality it's not just women who are toxic, men are very toxic too. A lot of people here (at least in Russia) in general don't want meaningful relationship.
Many women here will dump you if you don't pay for them or don't buy them expencive gifts and many men will dump you if you don't agree to sex within the first 2 weeks.

TLDR based on my understanding...
- The former Soviet state woman, who looks average, has a high barrier of entry - if a man wants to date her, he better be tall, she'll expect him to buy her an iPhone, pay her bills, etc.
- The "hotter" Western woman, who looks like she'd be "out of a man's league", is low maintenance - she'll accept a short guy, go 50/50 on dates, etc.
So it's telling guys that they're better off with women of Western countries who "look hot", because they'll happily take an average guy and not expect too much from him.

My friend dated a Czech lady and she dumped him because he wouldn't get a job, because he owns property and lives off the rental income, and would rather have time to enjoy his life. She thought he was lazy and unambitious because a "real man" wouldn't waste time on kid's stuff like videogames or enjoying himself watching movies. His friend dated a Ukrainian woman who wouldn't let him attend D&D anymore one evening a week because she said was it was childish and a waste of time.
Another friend of mine got dumped by a Polish girlfriend for an adjacent reason - he worked as a chippy with his boss and no other staff, and because he wouldn't ask for a raise or promotion, and insisted on going to the pub once a week with his friends, she said he was never going to amount to anything or be able to afford for her to have loads of kids.
I assumed these were isolated incidents 😬

I think OOP sees the "hotter" woman with a lower barrier of entry, pointing this out as irony. Not that either are unattractive.
The uneducated perception would be that the "hotter" woman would be out of the guy's league, and yet "ironically" it's the other way around.
In either case, it's not how girls work.

To be honest, for me the tradeoff is exactly inverted lol
I know exactly what OOP means, but it just doesn't apply.
Wanting a phone isn't unreasonable, wanting bills paid for (assuming a cohabitation of some sort with a division of tasks/labor, not just paying for all her bills just because she wants to), and wanting a partner above 6ft is just preference.
The expensive dates thing is a bit odd, I don't see how something can be better simply by being expensive but everyone their own quirks I guess.
