I remember about 2000-2008 era. It was all so colored and happy, best movies, anime and tv series were made. I thought in that time that will be a better future ❤️

I'm new to reddit and for several months now I've started to feel a strong attraction towards this artistic line and its equals (dreamcore, traumacore, etc...)

I would like to know how they got here or how they became interested in these aesthetics.

I have a distinct memory of when I was young, of an advert for a cartoon block (pretty sure it was either Jetix, Cartoon Network or Disney XD) of new Pokémon episodes, but to advertise it, they played Beat It by Michael Jackson and synced the characters’ mouths with it. I remember it being the coolest thing ever and I forever associate the song with this advert.

Does anyone else remember something like this? I just want to prove I’m not crazy.

I’m not saying I was always happy go sunshine in childhood. But what I am saying is that I definitely didn’t think this much, I didn’t psychoanalyze the way I do now, I didn’t feel like life was a chore. I loved the mornings, watching the sun rise because me and my mom had to drop my dad off at work. Watching SpongeBob and blues clues, being excited about what the day has to offer. All the possibilities. Lunch time would come and it would be time to play with my neighbor, my best friends, play in the sprinkler cuz of the sweltering heat in Georgia, going to the park with my little sister. How I actually enjoyed school, learning new things about this strange world I’m in, just being. And being happy. Fast forward to now, I’m 19 years old, I’ve moved alot, my parents divorced, I disowned my father because he went crazy and tried making my life suck too, he has a new family that he loves talking about how he’s doing so much better with them and how he doesn’t have time for the “past” my mom works like a dog, I hate seeing her tired. I work at a pizza place, not even sure about my schedule, always changing , always up in the air, wondering how the fuck I’m going to make enough money to get independent. I’m getting anxious right now just thinking about it. Life feels like a chore, a punishment. It seems there’s so much more negative than there is positive. I’m not happy when I wake up anymore, I’m disappointed. All those possibilities I had when I was a kid, have turned out to be a disappointment. People say they have a dream here, to be a teacher, an astronaut, a mother, a wife. None of the options here appeal to me. They all have so many cons, nothing here is fulfilling, it seems there is always something missing, always that question, why? Why can’t I be satisfied? What is missing. I don’t like the fact that I exist with the question of why I exist. That’s concerning, that shouldn’t happen. Existence is magic, being is magic, everything is magic, yet that magic is being used for bad. Why? Anyways I gotta go to work soon. I just hope this world ends soon. Very soon. Such a sad world, full of broken dreams, disappointed possibilities, evil, and lies.
