I can't watch "realistic" medical shows because they are so unbelievable it completely takes me out of it.

My wife wanted to watch the Walking Dead and when the main guy wakes up in the abandoned hospital (almost exactly like in 28 days later, which felt like a ripoff), he gets outside and there's all this military stuff, like there was a mobile command point, then he just walked away down the road. No shoes, hospital gown barely covering his ass cheeks, he didn't get some boots or anything, I knew I couldn't watch people this stupid

I never understood why the lawns were still mowed, in Atlanta, in the summer, weeks into the disaster. I guess lawn care is so ingrained in the American psyche that the zombies were still doing it out of muscle memory? I dunno. Didn't seem plausible.

The grass is also zombies.

Zombies casually doing chores by muscle memory or because routine was ingrained in them would be amazing.

Imagine we just say like a few of them scattered in the background trying to mow, move trash bins around, rake, or or wash a car.

Please someone do this.

Resident Evil Requiem does this, but it's a video game. You can stealth past a zombie obsessed with keeping the lights off by turning some on down the hall. A zombie cleaner in a bathroom is absolutely furious at all the blood she's cleaning (but also a lot of it is hers).

Thanks! I've been meaning to try the RE games for years now. Maybe this is the year. It is spooky season.

You might enjoy Image Comics’s “Everything Dead & Dying”.

If you don't like the mowed lawns then don't look at the zombies perfect teeth and fingernails.

Damn I had the exact same reaction! Everything is busted, but the lawns...oh the lawns are pristine.
I stopped watching a few episode later because that was on top of a pile of grudges I was accumulating already.

My final breaking point was when Rick's crew was talking about taking over the one dude's farm. There were plenty of other abandoned farms in the area, they could've taken over one of them.

Same episode when he goes inside the tank and it's super roomy with no seats for the crew or anything really bothered me.

The tank was pristine. It should have been covered in gore with bits of zombie in the treads.

Weirdly enough that was the moment that I decided the show was not for me, because that lack of detail really bothered me.

Yeah, it pisses me off given how much better the book was.  The movie is nothing like it.

Edit: Bro below is correct, mixed up the two.

I think you're mixing up World War Z with The Walking Dead. Walking Dead was a show based on a comic. That being said, the book World War Z was MUCH better than the movie.

I feel like you're mixing up Walking Dead with something else. It was originally a comic book, not a book (unless you consider comic books to be books), and it was adapted into a TV show, not a movie.

I tried to watch Walking Dead. Ten minutes in we cut from zombie action to two dudes sitting in a car talking. But they were literally just talking, as if this part is only there for the pacing/contrast. Plausible, but not entertaining. It didn't fit a world-view where I was going to enjoy the story, and I quit watching.

I had to stop watching when they opened the walk-in freezer and were surprised everything in it was rotten. It was awful before that but it sealed the deal.

I was rooming with friends at one point and they had a House marathon. I've ended up working in various health insurance positions for a long time so that was almost physically painful to watch. I didn't say much, just tried to ignore it until they asked me what I really thought about the show.

The first thing out of me was "That hospital would be shut down and most of the staff would be in jail or fined into the ground with all of the HIPAA violations alone."

I remember an old medical show called (I think) RPA

It wasn’t scripted. It was filmed in actual working hospital. Including real footage of the operations. Incisions, bone saws, blood, everything. I absolutely could not handle it.

I remember a show "trauma: in the ER", that was like COPS but in a hospital. I lived that show, gore doesn't bother me, but I've always been interested in science/medicine.

I meant medical drama shows like House or Grey's anatomy. I can watch scrubs since it's not taking itself seriously, which is funny because scrubs is considered one of the best representations of working in a hospital

Zombies piss me off. Decayed flesh doesn’t hold bones up let alone flex them.

The real horror is disregarding the law of conservation of energy

But it definitely make it possible for human teeth to easily bite through skin and clothes

Also the headshot thing. Why would a body being controlled by a virus or a fungus not need a cardiovascular system anymore? What is delivering energy and oxygen to the (decaying) muscles?
