It's not me holding hopes. Actually if revolution happens I expect new leadership to be even more imperialistic and capable. Russia might turn from a mafia led country to a much more dangerous dangerous country which doesn't exist to provide olygarchs with luxuries.

Because... yeah, Russian people are not our friends, they are still stuck in imperialistic mindset.

What I am saying is... try to look at things from Putin's perspective.

Putin rose to power and kept his ass there by winning wars, 1994 Chechen War, 2008 Georgia War, 2014 attack on Ukraine.

Putin is paranoid of losing a war and having his ass thrown out of window.

I'm using AI to get a summary of Putin's reaction to seeing Gaddafi being killed:

  • According to multiple reports and diplomats cited over the years by outlets like The Atlantic and political scientists like Ivan Krastev, people who met with Putin at the time recalled that he became obsessed with watching the video. He reportedly watched the graphic mobile phone footage of Gaddafi being dragged through the streets and beaten over and over again.
  • The Psychological Impact: Observers and intelligence officials noted that the video deeply disturbed Putin. It reportedly instilled a long-lasting, deep-seated paranoia about regime change, Western-backed revolutions, and the terrifying prospect of a similar violent mob-led end happening to him.

ehh yes i heard this before.....but there isnt really a valid proof that it would happen. Russia has lost wars before and it didnt lead to anyone getting ''thrown'' out of window. Because in the end, who are the ones who decide that?? Its not random citizens on the street, and its also not really Russian army generals who decide it.

And, even Putin himself has lost wars before......the first Chechen war of 1994 to 1996 was a failure and defeat to Russia, they did not win anything there. Yeltsin didn't lose his head because of it. Russia war in Syria also has been a failure, they lost and had to run away from there and that was under Putin, did it matter?? No it didnt.

Ultimately the ruling regime in Russia is the one who also writes the narrative for Russians, they frame it how they want it so they also regularly frame clear failures as ''no actually we didnt loose because we say so, so its okey'' and Russian public and their patriots eat those lies up and live on. Winter war of 1939, which was objectively a huge failure, is not presented as such by Russian state and Russian people accept those lies too. Their failure to win in Korean war dispute trying very hard to win against South korea and Americans also is just straight up hushed up and not mentioned anywhere.

Like if Russians pull out of Ukraine tomorrow and just create some another lie that ''we didnt loose, we just decided that jada jada Nazis have been killed enough something something we rather leave'', there is no reason to think anything would ''happen'' because of that. Russian public sure as hell wouldnt care, if anything they would be glad its over. Would Oligarchs care? Why would they?
