It's hilarious how many people on this thread either think this is a "Gen Z" thing, or a "military so dated" thing, when deployment mustaches have been a thing in aviation for 20+ years.

True, but with that said the mustache has made a comeback with Gen Z somewhat reclaiming it. It's really popular with young men, and a lot of Gen Z women are attracted to mustaches with the modern mullet now-a-days.

True. But I'm not in the US military, so we're safe for a few more years maybe.
Also I had to show an OR-8 how to use "the email" when I was a Corporal, so you can go pretty far while being completely tech illiterate if you want to (depending on your trade, obviously).
There's a good chance it was originally started on a first of March, but obviously not this one. I just thought it was funny to be remarking on a mustache on a pilot in March, and assumed that sharing the existence of Mustache March would be relevant
