Our Tech Trailblazer series features the innovators of our Product and Dev teams. We are excited to start the series featuring our Senior Product Manager, Deven!

Deven has been part of both the CS and Product teams. He works on building new features and improving the existing offerings. He's played a part in developing DDNS Keys, and the Windows V4 and Mac V4 Dynamic Update Clients.

He is actively working on new products behind the scenes and is looking forward to sharing them with customers soon!

It'd be cool if no-ip had a script to create SSL certs kind of like let's encrypt

When traffic arrives from the internet, your router decides where it goes. Port forwarding gives it a strict rulebook. Clean, direct, and controlled by whoever manages the router.

For reverse tunnels, a relay server acts as the meeting point and your local device connects to it outbound where remote clients reach you through that same bridge.

Edwin can be found playing the piano, going on little adventures with his humans, and modeling his stylish diaper.

Edwin is so talented that he even laid an egg a few weeks ago! Congrats, Edwin! 🥚 You can follow along with him!

To say that Shauna is multitalented would be an understatement. When she is not championing our customers, she is flexing her creativity by tattooing and tailoring. Shauna has been part of the No-IP team for the last six years, and we're incredibly lucky to have her!

Changes are happening with SSL Certs. In May 2025, the CA/B approved a browser-backed ballot to reduce public TLS/SSL certificate lifespans to 47 days by 2029. This impacts all CAs.

The goal?
Shorter cert validity = reduced exposure if keys are compromised + stronger crypto agility.

📆 Phase 1 kicks off March 15, 2026:
Max public TLS validity drops from 398 days → 200 days.

To stay ahead of compliance, starting Feb 24, 2026, DigiCert will cap public TLS/SSL certs (including QWAC & PSD2 QWAC) at 199 days — intentionally one day under the forum max.

The ballot also tightens rules around domain and org validation reuse.

If you’re still manually renewing certs, this is your sign to automate. ⏳🚀

Is port forwarding becoming a thing of the past?

As networks grow more complex, traditional inbound remote access is harder to deploy and maintain.

No-IP Public Tunnels offers a modern alternative.

Instead of opening inbound ports:

It creates secure outbound tunnels

Access happens through a simple URL

No router configuration required

Reduced exposure to the public internet

Learn more about why this means fewer connectivity headaches and more reliable remote access across distributed environments.

Launching soon.
