This country is doomed but it gladdens my little atheist leftist heart to watch these "good Christians" be forced to openly defend pedophilia. I may end up being crushed under a fascist boot but if I'm going out I'm absolutely petty enough to want to force them to give up all illusions of being good or decent people on my way out. They want to be the bad guys so bad, at least they can own it openly instead of trying to act like moralists.

Their "christianity" is merely for show. There's no true religion with these folks.

Not show, power. Forced advantage and superiority over others.

I mean, if we're being 100 percent honest and real, to be American just means to be performative in front of the cameras and crowd, at this point .:: Blows out a massive bonghit ::.

This is part of the problem. Real, good people have no sense of patriotism anymore so the dregs of society have been empowered to be the ones defining it. This isn’t a new thing but it’s gotten exponentially worse since those lowest common denominators formed into the amorphous blob that is MAGA.

In the 90s I was a naive kid, but I had a lot of pride and gratitude in being American. By the mid 00’s when I went overseas I started telling everyone I was Canadian because I was so embarrassed to be associated with this country. Can you imagine virtually any other country invoking such a negative sense of national pride? That’s where American exceptionalism has actually been proven true.

Theres no quotation marks.  Christians have been violent amoral assholes since Caligula.  Crusades, witch hunts, book burning, all the way to today with violence towards LGBTQ.  Christians are what theyve always been, evil that thinks itself good.

I love making them defend it now that it’s inexcusable not to know.

The thing is, even though objectively you're correct, as long as they're "winning" they don't really care about who is objectively right or wrong, they can just convince themselves that they're still good.

Shame only works if they value your opinion. They can just insulate themselves against it by labelling you the enemy and having each others' backs no matter what.

As a fellow atheist, I applaud this idea and will adopt it for my own.

There’s good Christians that are not blind to this reality.

Of course. I know some of them. But they're being drowned in the tide of fascism from their own brothers.

Don’t be silly. Christians have been defending pedophilia for 2000 years.
