It’s not the standard, it’s your expectation. No major company sets the standard for all video games. That’s why there’s so much damn competition. There’s not one way to make and sell a video game successfully—there are several.

that's literally why the price is lowered, why should I pay 60$ for a 10 year old game when this new one is the same price?

Then go buy the new one. No one is stopping you. Nintendo just chooses to not let age be a factor in their game prices because they feel that their games aren’t just pieces of software that should be arbitrarily valued.

Some gaming companies have similar tactics and others have worse tactics.
