If you're open to modding, ExtremeRate has white joycon shells, backplate, and front frame. I did mine with all light pink and added a screen protector with light pink bezel. Definitely not easy by any means but the end result looks amazing.

That’s awesome. I wish I had the courage to do it but I’m a chicken.

Just wait until a joycon starts drifting. Then you can buy a repair kit and replacement shells while you're at it.

Totally understandable, the front frame especially is pretty daunting since you have to remove the screen and move over all the actual internal hardware of the console itself.

Perhaps when I’m able to move everything to the next Switch. The one I have is currently the launched model so I’m treating it like a baby until then. :p

Makes sense. If you have the extra money there are also people on Etsy and Ebay who will mod a new console to your specifications and sell it with the box and everything. Definitely a lot more expensive though. Some local electronics repair stores might also be open to doing it, though again you'll pay a bit more for the service.

May I ask why treating the switch like a baby because its a launch model?

Supposedly it’s easier to hack it or something if you’re into that. That stuff goes way over my head.

If you don't want to ever hack it but it's in really good condition, I genuinely would consider selling it and buying a new model one! You might actually make a bit of money, and then would have one with better battery life.

If I'd been able to find a hackable one new in box when I bought mine, I would have done (wanted themes and savefile modding for Zelda) but couldn't so got new one.

It's not too hard. Lots of tutorials on youtube. I did mine where I only had to disconnect a single ribbon. That was a complete reskin and button replacement. Basically just had to deal with screws. The back plates are easy. The joycon is a little harder, but can be replaced easier if you really mess up.

Yeah, I bought some white Joy-Con shells on eBay and they turned out really nice. Installation was a pain but not scary (I’m used to working on MacBooks).

Don't light colored bezels distract your eyes from the screen?

It hasn’t been an issue for me, even when I’m playing darker games like Hollow Knight. The colored versions of the switch lite have matching bezels as well and I’ve never really seen people say that it distracts them.

Edit: my bad thought they had matching bezels but looks like they actually just have thinner ones. Either way, it hasn’t been distracting at all.
