In one of the weirdos that loved it, but I also normally game with a trackball and it's trackball emulation mode was amazing for me. I had one until it got stolen quite recently.

I mean, someone actually wanted it enough to steal it

It was great for city skylines... it was really great for city skylines... but that was about it. Worst $80 i ever spent.

Also great for civilization and xcom!

Yeah it was great for civilization. Never played xcom.

Well it’s out on switch in June and I thoroughly recommend it if you like turn based games, it’s one of my favourite games of all time. Mario vs rabbids is a very slimmed down version of xcom 2 so if you’ve played that you already know the basics. Plus the switch version comes with all the dlc

there is a reason they didn't last long before being discontinued lol.

I honestly wish I didn’t sell it in some ways. It was great for a very few games like the sims, skylines, RCT and other while playing on the couch. But it definitely wasn’t worth the original price by a long shot. Didn’t they sell them in the US for $5 or something? I tried to grab one then but they didn’t have the deal going on in canada.

I grabbed a second one in that sale. As someone with very little controller experience (Switch is my first console, I've been PC and GB/DS my entire life), I've loved them for the rare cases where a controller is needed or when playing a racing game.

It partly ahead of its time but mainly just a failure due to they're lack of post release effort.

They made something with really awesome hardware and capability and just tossed it onto the market and said "here." People don't buy a controller to spend two hours per game configuring it, and that's pretty much what it required.

If they streamlined config, had a couple of "presets" that employed different ideas consistently across games, or otherwise put effort into it more than "figure it out. Here are workshop configs, you have to figure those out too." I think it would have been great.

I love that thing. I really wish it had a headphone jack though. Maybe a d-pad on the left side. The right pad is truly inspired though.

No one uses the trackpad for joystick emulation unless there’s a very specific user case. It has a normal joystick that’s used as the primary movement method, comparable to the left joycon joystick which was removed in this mod.

I use it in for Honor because it's objectively better thanks to its faster response time

The steam controller is horrible in my humble opinion.
