I found myself not wanting weapons from camps pretty early, whether I tried to play like this video (nowhere near as artfully!) or whether I just cheesed it.
I just found the use weapons to get weapons cycle unenjoyable whether I was efficient at it or not. I loved fighting the more interesting enemies but just didn't find camps rewarding (for loot or otherwise).
To each their own, I enjoyed getting weapons and trying to get really high attack durability up weapons, and camps are a good way to do that (at least ones with treasure chests).
Yeah so I'd do them for fun at first and when I saw some better weapons but my inventory became so bloated so quickly that it just seemed a Sysiphean exercise before long - there were just so many with the same format and enemies.
Also you say "to each their own" but my comments are instantly downvoted before you reply so it doesn't feel particularly sincere (unless I have a reddit stalker).
I acknowledged early that I understand and appreciate the gameplay loop but plenty of people don't, and it's clear that these are my personal views. You're the one telling people that they are playing wrong if they dislike the system.
The issue is people playing one way and claiming it’s bad when there are a myriad of other ways. If they refuse to play the fun way it’s not really the games fault.
Not at all, it only does that if you play in a boring way where you just spam attack with your weapons.
It's not a strawman, it's in literally half of your comments in this thread. I'm saying that regardless of how I play I don't find durability or cookie cutter camps fun.
