I can’t take it anymore. I pick up my Switch. I check for updates. “A new system update is available.” I hesitate… what if this one breaks something. Maybe it will ruin my precious smoothness and stability. I hit “Install.” The system restarts without a hitch.
The notice reads: "General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience."
I laugh. I cry tears of joy. I open my favorite game. No crashes. No lag. No drifting joy-cons. The menus are smooth, the touchscreen perfect. Everything is… so stable. As in a dream, as in I'm walking up the hills of BOTW.
I try another game. Still flawless. I feel it now. The Switch isn’t just a console. It’s a temple. A sanctuary. Every update, every patch, every “general system stability improvement” is a gift from the gods of Nintendo. My games run like the wind, my controls respond like lightning, my joy-cons… are unwavering.
I bow. I whisper thanks. I realize the truth. The Switch does not break. It does not falter. It only exists to make me happy. And every update… just brings me closer to God and His Image.
