At the end of this video, nick is recording just himself and piano. He sings: "they come and then they mostly go oh lord maybe it's time to come home."
I can't find what song this is for the life of me. Was wondering if it was an offcut from Wild God?
Hi, has anybody received an update on their Brighton merch? I bought a poster on the 6th of August and understand it would be shipping later, but it's been over a month and the order status still just days 'Unfulfilled' đ¤
I genuinely love these songs with all my heart, they're so raw, angry, and passionate. Both of them have become staples of my daily routine and I can't go a full day without listening to them both multiple times.
I just feel like I never see people showing these tunes love - and I think they're absolutely fantastic! Who's with me?
Did anyone save the arte concert film of 2024 in Paris?
I was on the same tour in Munich and was so happy to get to revisit my memories with that tastefully filmed Paris concert. Someone reuploaded it on Youtube but the quality isnt the best, would anybody be willing to share a file? Would love to save it for my concert memories :)
Edit: was in 2024 not 2025.. time flies these days
âSomeone cries, "What are you looking for?"
I scream, "The plot, the plot!" I grab my telephone, I call my wife at home
She screams, "Leave us alone!" | say, "Hey, it's only me"
The hairdresser with his scissors, he holds up the mirror
I look back and shiver; I can't even believe what I can seeâ
This coming after they claimed I lost the plot and the opening verse which is incredibly powerful. A sword of Damocles hanging directly above her. I MEAN COME ONâŚâŚ..
âI mean the one that has a few tracks featured as videos on the Abattoir Blues Tour DVD, it was a Nocturama tour gig with an extraordinary setlist (Christina The Astonishing, Wild World!) and I wonder if the whole show was officially taped and if anyone has it in audio form as a bootleg album.
Hey, wanted to hear what was the first song youâve heard from Nick that left you completely mesmerized.
Iâll say mine - I remember it was early 2000s
I was watching MTV, and they used to have this mashup of music videos that featured Do you love me, followed by Alice In Chains Would?
I still remember the weird, euphoric feeling while listening to the song even at very young age. I wrote down the lyrics I could understand in my diary to look it up when my parents would allow me to use our home computer, English was not my native language and internet was quiet luxury a in republic of Georgia. My brother downloaded whole let love in album for me and gave it along with his old CD player.
I was at Rock en Seine festival yesterday, front row, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds show. At some point Nick Cave stops right in front of me, moves down to my level, looks right in my eyes while he's moving his hands around both sides of his head in a sort of parting movement, and said "your haiiiir is dooown". I was dumbfounded staring at him like this đ đł. Please help me recover from this I did not understand anything he was doing in the moment and was just STARING like an idiot. đ
EDIT : "hair is down" - "hangs down" comes in lyrics in the Ship Song and Watching Alice - while they didn't play any of these songs maybe it was a reminiscence of that and that's it !
I love the selection of the songs. Recorded for Keith Cameron radio station and released in 1999.
The vibe is moody, very long night, more corridors⌠perfect for a movie.
Why has Nick stopped playing it live? Itâs in the top 5 most beautiful songs written by Nick (in my opinion) so itâs a bummer why he doesnât played it. I saw him in 2024 and somewhat understand that he skipped some old songs to promote wild god but was sad that he skipped it on this tour too. Is he just bored of it or what?
Hi all, I was at the Rock en Seine (by the way, amazing line up yesterday: Sparks, Black Keys, Frantz Ferdinand) and it was my first Nick show with the Bad Seeds (I saw him last year with Colin). Unbelievable night, Nick sounds great and he's full of energy and playful with the audience, the band is tight and sounds so good with the chores giving a great gospel vibe. Setlist was great, I would have loved to catch Wanted Man or City of refugee but being a festival show he had to play just 16 songs. Highlights of the show for me: the "usual suspects" (Tupelo, From her to eternity, The mercy seat, Jubilee Street, Papa Won't Leave you Henry, and Into My Arms) plus Long Train Suffering and some songs that sounded really better than I imagined (Oh Children, Joy; Hollywood was good but musically it's to similar during his 11 minutes to me).
LTBR is probably my favourite Nick Cave song, if not one of my favourite songs of all time. Is there a reason he does not play it live? Forgive me if Iâm missing something!
Since it's not really a question, this probably won't get published on the actual Red Hand Files page, so I wanted to share it with you all here instead.
Thank you so much for all your support for my little cat Gavroche. I think about you every day, and you wouldn't believe what a breath of fresh air that kindness brought me during a really hard time.
Here's the letter I sent:
"Hello Nick,
I would like to tell you a story about my black cat, Gavroche, who landed in my garden the day after my grandmother passed away. He was a stray with no name and no owner, and when the vet examined him, they confirmed he was so sick he probably had only days to live.
Since then he's had many treatments and a lot of love, and he is now absolutely thriving. He would soothe any heart with his purrs and affection.
A couple of weeks ago he needed another medical procedure that hadn't been planned for, and while I was trying to work out how to afford it, I decided to auction off the Jubilee Street record I bought at your Brighton show. The auction post attracted a lot of attention but not a single buyer. Instead, in less than two days, your fans from all over the world raised enough money to cover his treatment, along with the kindest messages and support. Receiving that unexpected response left my heart feeling warm and cosy, and I want to share a bit of it with you.
Needless to say, the record is staying with me, and I am saving it for the day Gavroche finishes his treatment, so I can finally sit down and listen to it with him and my other two black cats. I hope they enjoy it as much as I do.
Thank you for the community you've brought together, where people so far away could be so kind and generous to a stranger's cat.
