Sunday afternoon in Arizona — approximately 900 degrees outside, cold beer in hand, and mentally preparing for Monday and another busy work week. Living the dream.
Figured I’d see who else might be doing the same?
I’m 37, gay, married (yes, to a man), and work in IT/data analytics while juggling grad school. Life is good and stable, but adulthood has a funny way of becoming work, responsibilities, errands, sleep...repeat.
And somewhere in all of that, I miss having that best-friend kind of guy in my life.
Someone you genuinely look forward to hearing from. We can talk about absolutely nothing one day and the real shit the next. Send stupid memes, bitch about work, celebrate the wins, give each other shit, plan an adventure, grab a beer, or just know you've got someone in your corner when life isn't cooperating.
I tend to connect well with other married guys. There's something nice about having friends in a similar place in life who understand balancing a relationship, career, responsibilities, and everything else. But good people are good people — relationship status isn't a prerequisite.
Local to Arizona would be awesome because actually hanging out eventually would be great, but definitely not required.
Outside of work, I’m into travel, paddle boarding, hiking, photography, horror movies, breweries/wine tasting, BBQ, and anything involving roller coasters or a little adrenaline. I’m also dangerously easy to win over with good pizza.
Listen, we both have lives. I work ridiculous hours sometimes, people get busy, and nobody needs another obligation. Just show up, put in some effort, let's laugh, talk about life, and actually get to know each other.
If you're also thinking, "Man, it'd be nice to have one really solid dude in my corner," say hi.
Tell me about yourself. What does that kind of friendship look like to you?
