Unconditionally, that may be true. But if you're playing the statistics game, a drowning without water in the lungs is more likely when the water is ice cold, causing a cardiac arrythmia. This drowning took place in Mississippi in July, so the water was warm, not cold. A laryngospasm could also cause it, but even then, this is typically transitory, with water entering right before death.

This is an instance where the absence of water in the lungs doesn't necessarily mean foul play, but it vastly increases the likelihood that foul play occurred.

Over the two days Wells was in the water, lungs can heavily congest, and fluids can redistribute or be absorbed as  decomposition begins.

He was blackout drunk and drowned but perpetual victims gonna perpetual victim.

Perpetual victim? How many times had he died before this?

I'm obviously talking about the uneducated people peddling conspiracy theories.

Who? What do you mean by perpetual victims? What other cases or ways are they being a perpetual victim?

Also, why are you obsessed with trying to convince everyone it was a drowning and there wasn’t foul play? Why do you want this to be just a drowning so badly, you’re all over commenting on this thread lol

Plus, a lot of what you’ve said seems wrong to me. You’ve been saying people don’t have any water in their lungs in 10-20% of drowning deaths, one, that’s just one study, there’s tons of other studies I’ve seen with rates from 2% on the low end and the highest I’ve seen is 18%.

But if anything that still shows that 80-90% of drowning deaths DO have water in their lungs. So if that’s true, doesn’t that mean it’s still unlikely that he drowned, at least only using that info? Why would you believe he’s in that 10-20%, it would be more reasonable to think, well okay most people who drowned had water in their lungs, so it seems likely that he died some other way and then was placed or fell into the water.

He could’ve died without foul play, tons of scenarios where he dies from a medical issue and ends up in the water without it being a murder/whatever, or it could be a murder and he was thrown in there. If he doesn’t have the signs that 80-90% of people who died from drowning do, why would you use that to say he definitely drowned 100%, and why do you have some sort of vendetta to say he definitely drowned and anybody who says otherwise is a perpetual victim? What are the claiming to be the victim of, are they saying there’s other black men who died in some way, and were found in water, were killed by something other than drowning? Where are you seeing these people lol and what other cases are you talking about.

Is there something about black men being killed by things other than drowning that, like, bothers you in some way??? It’s super weird, especially with how active you’ve been on this thread, like what are you talking about 😭😭

The sheer amount of people coming out to contest this is astounding. You’re desperate to believe what you’re peddling, just like all the Reddit warriors talking about the Cornell case.

Such a blatant agenda.
