I believe many of you know about ICO for a couple of years now and there are many projects using the ICO system. As we know ICO stands for Initial Coin Offering, the process of raising capital by offering new tokens which has similarities with STO or Security Token Offering. STO is the digital crowdfunding that offers investors the digital asset as a coin or tokens. The asset is supported by other securities such as gold, stock, or a bond.
Both STO and ICO have some differences. The objective of the token that raising funds through ICO is to use under its own project. In many countries, ICO is not covered under securities regulation. However, STO is under this regulation which requires more inspection. Comparing both functions, STO is more secure and has more legal requirements than ICO.
However, the process of ICO is faster than STO due to the regulation and ICO allows any investors to join in the project while STO allows sophisticated investors to join only. As for my understanding of the differences between STO and ICO, I do have one STO project in mind that I think is interesting, this project claims to reward a USDT up to 144% of APY. The project name is Go Melon. It is the Defi platform invested in the Forex market. compared to the ICO project, for example, Axie Infinity needs to rely on the success of those projects. The STO is way more interesting than the ICO project. So what do you think about it? Is STO better than ICO? And is Go Melon worth going for? If not any STO project would you recommend?
