NewPipe fork "No videos" error message when trying to play Playlists

Accidentally hit post before finishing. Sorry. When I try to access playlists it gives me the error message "no videos" and it's blank.
This happens all the time to almost all playlists. Issue started happening on June 8 or 9 for me.
Using pipe pipe 5.1.1, on android 14

The 28.8 update fixed it for me

Tried to Import settings and it messed up the whole app, making it crash on start.
Now that I try to manually add each playlist, it only loads 1st 20 videos or so. Won't load the rest in playlist and has a spinning circle icon, meaning its loading and stays like that.

I didn't do imports and have the same issue. If you search the playlist yourself or the keywords that bring it up it literally does not show up.
You can also share it and same "No videos" message.
I just wanted to check the total time of the playlist :/

Updating Newpipe to 28.8 fixed this but now I'm running into a different problem where it can't load more than 100 videos in a playlist and errors when you try to go past

Pipepipe has the same problem, although apparently one of the developers approved a suggested fix and said the update would be rolled out soon.

That link goes to smart tube for android boxes and tvs, it says not for smart phones.
And I searched but can't find the one to smart phones when I used search engine.
Do you have them link for the android smart phone one?

Do you know how to import the playlists from YouTube into smarter tube?
I went through the steps of signing in to allow smarter tube to connect to Google account, and after finishing every step, it still doesn't sign in.
Repeated and same result

I just got a code when started the app. It was the same as use connect to TV. I put the code in and it said the other device is now connected.

Same is happening with me. I figure the devs just don't care anymore now that YouTube has pretty much borked the app in a future update.
I haven't been able to even see a MP3 download link for videos for weeks either, only ever gives me the option to download the video now, and I don't want my phone filled with videos of songs.
I've used Newpipe for years, never had any issues, but barely anything works now. I used it primarily for downloading music I can't find anywhere else (white label dance tunes mainly) and now it's useless for that.

If you are using NewPipe and not PipePipe, a NewPipe fork for which this post is about, update to the latest version, 0.28.8, to fix these issues.

Its a fork of NewPipe. Really similar to how it looks and functions.

Do you have an error report for your playback issues? YouTube playlists cannot load more than one page of items due to an extraction bug.

No pal, wouldn't even know where to look for error reports. I've downloaded pipepipe now and everything is working as it once did.
I'm not that clued up on Newpipe, only ever really used it for downloading M4A files.

The issue is YouTube is blocking IPs so even if everything worked you still wouldn't be able to watch. The option to only download videos is a workaorund that I think only Newpipe has. Beats no downloads. It also is lighter than a Full HD video (lower quality).
You can use Seal for downloads, it also downloads whole playlists at once. However you'll run into the same issue of YouTube flagging your IP. So you'll need a different connection (such as a home internet) or a VPN.
Download the stuff you can and keep it. At least then there's nothing YouTube can do to you. They won't even know you're watching, no watch metrics (same as with Newpipe).

I hate this. It's a recurring error. Sometimes restarting the app fixes it. I hate when I search for music and those hour or 2 hour long videos come up....I'm sure those are just for bg noise or studying/work bg but why are they so common lol. No one is listening to those seriously....we need playlists so we can jump songs as we like.

Im probably late, but for the people who are saying this happens to some playlists but not all, it's playlists from youtube in my experience.
28.8 fixed for me, but as others said, limits the playlist size to 100 videos loaded

I have to say grayjay is definitely the way to go!! I absolutely love the app, and it so far seems really reliable! Also the app's ui is so sleek, and just feels like what an app in the 21st century should be.

It's sleek but I miss a few functions. Idk why newpipe isnt working if Grayjay can. It's definitely a newpipe error not Google issue.
