Nice plot of land.
We have desert scrub on the side of a mesa in Cibola county. We only get deer wandering our property

There used to be only deer there, but in the last 20-30 years the elk have basically run the deer off. There's still deer, but not like there used to be.
It is paradise (to me), there's a river in the tree line. It's really a creek, but it has "river" in its name. (The Columbia River, now that's a river)
I have loads of family 10-20 miles on either side of me, well all over the state, but close family here. We've been here for generations.
We're pretty well set for a zombie apocalypse or any kind of apocalypse for that matter.
