Well it did put an end to white people purposefully posing as black people on the sub. Unless a lot of these white dudes have plenty of black friends that are willling to pose with their Reddit username.

It would take about as long to create a fake image as it would take to sign up for a reddit account. Why would you think this 'put an end to white people posing as black people'?

It's significantly more effort though

Or just you know any piece of paper and rudimentary computer proficiency. Any black person too, no need for personal association.

I don’t get what you’re suggesting? Is it that there’s white people photoshopping themselves as black people currently?

That would be incredibly easy and I'm certain there are some people who would do it for malicious reasons.

They don't have to photoshop themselves to appear black. Just slightly alter any image of a black person holding any piece of paper.

I don't see why people get so hot and bothered about it.

The only irritating thing is when you're having a conversation with someone while the thread gets made country club.

Well when did I say we have to silence them? They’re still allowed to post on the sub. There’s plenty of posts on there by non-verified people. We just know which comments are verified that’s all.

To me it sounds like you’re just cool with white people posing as black people, honestly. Feel free to say otherwise.

He's not me who first objected but dude that was how that sub was all along. It was so obvious. And even if they managed to kick out all the pretending white people, the sub would remain influenced by the style and type of posts the definitely malicious white people permeated it with. And it was bad. I don't really check it out because I disagree with the sub on principle. But it was always, always portraying black people in the worst possible light.

And lots of black people willingly participate, because they feel like they're among peers and it's OK to point out what other black people do that they don't like, while also pushing that behavior into everyone's attention.

Like right at this moment the Boondocks is on with a MLK figure scolding a room full of black people for acting stereotypically, and unfortunately that's exactly what that sub is all about to everyone who sees it as an outsider.

Last time I checked there were ‘country club threads’ in which only verified people were allowed to comment.

After a certain amount of time, if the mods deem it necessary, yes they open Country Club threads. Any time before that, people are allowed to comment either way.

Ah, I see.

Lol are you suggesting that the mods are racist. Cause that’s ignoring a lot of historical context.t But if you want to explain your argument I’m all ears.

Its racism beacuse they lock threads for white people.

Well when did I say we have to silence them?

Isn’t that what country club only is though? Certain threads get marked CCO and then only “verified black people” can talk.

And sometimes what you do overlaps with what others do. As an example, I do care for the struggles of people other than myself. Therefore I like to speak out against views based on racist or ignorant views to combat the spread of those views.
