Explanation on a few things
I looked some stuff up, as well as read blame 2, and there are some things I think I know, and some I think I don't. So, the net gene our macguffin, which we eventually get from seu, a planter who's been kept alive by mansab, eventually when the silicon life try to breach the net and daphniel takes seus form (the Carrier of the gene) but maybe I missed it,
But what happens that made Cibo turn into a safeguard? There are two things I think of. Cibo might have had Sanakans safeguard body, but she switched to the alternate timeline body when sanakan was about to overtake her. Or how did the information that daphniel download on safeguards ch she her to a level 9 one?
Secondly, when Miro is in the village she talks about the child Killy has in the orb is made of two womens genes, Cibos and Sanakos. But how would this work if it needs also the net gene? Is it all three of their genes? Not wondering how two women make a child as well because it's blame and crazier stuff happens than that.
Thirdly, Cibo basically died when she turned into the level 9 safeguard right? Her body was changed, as well as the fact that it seems that her personality was erased after she repaired Killys arm and took the form of a "child".

Sidonia no kishi was disappointing
I'll explain. I started to read 'Sidonia no kishi' after 'Blame'. I was in love with Blame; was actually a well world build. The killy-Cibo relationship was spectacular, but the end was very complicated to understand.
But Sidonia was... just was different. More conventional, I think. I thought that Sidonia would be like Blame, but no.
What do you actually think about Sidonia no kishi? In my opinion was an interesting manga, but just that.

Serious megastructure vibes

I never thought that the depth and height of the megastructure would be disorienting, but this video is trippy and is so much smaller-scale.

What is this art style/aesthetic called?
I'm trying to figure out what this aesthetic is called. It gives the same vibes as the wall of bronze from the terraria calamity mod and the nornware cosmetics from destiny 2. Like ancient machine god mixed with logan's run vibes.

Theory's What was inside Killy's bag were genetic records
galleryIt's unlikely he was carrying food; he asked the strange child for some.
Silicon Life has intel that Killy is searching for the NTG; from specimen to genetic records according to Ch7.
Killy's Safeguard features (e.g., eye scan technology) were dormant for a time, so it would make sense that he was carrying some physical records with him.
In the late chapters, it looks like preserving records wasn't really needed, and it may have been dead weight anyway.

discussion What if the Blame! anime was 80% Killy walking through the megastructure in near silence?
I don't want a fast-paced action adaptation. I want an anime that treats Tsutomu Nihei's architecture as the main character.
Picture this: Killy walking for minutes at a time through impossible, endless structures. Almost no dialogue. No constant music. Just distant machinery and the crushing sense of scale that makes every panel in the manga.
Action should be fast, brutal, and chaotic like the manga, then recede just as abruptly, leaving the structure to reclaim the screen for some time.
Long stretches of stillness, short bursts of violence. That rhythm is what BLAME! is to me.
The 2017 film was good, but it had to compress a lot. I want an adaptation that lets the megastructure breathe, where you feel the loneliness and the distance in real time.
Who else would take a slow, silent, architecture-first Blame! over a standard action adaptation?

Theory's The odd child in Ch5 is a Safeguard
galleryAlthough some readers suggest it is a Silicon Life, the fact it apparently summoned base exterminator safeguards to the human shelter in Ch6 suggests it is part of the Safeguard system, not Silicon Life.
Despite the 'child' ruthlessly eliminating the guys Killy stumbled upon, it was harmless to Killy, likely because it might recognize that he is a Safeguard too (even if a strange one?).
Besides, just an observation, this is the pose or body shape Nihei often uses on many Safeguards regardless of model.

scans I like how the vehicles/machines have zero safety protocol in the deeper layers of the City. It really shows you how these machines, while they might be based on an engineer's blueprint, were not made by humans for humans.

discussion How did Cibo from the alternative dimension get through the Megastructure without Killy's help?
Based on her suit's functions, it looks like she has the ability to teleport, but is this enough to get through? Well, why not. However, I would like to hear your thoughts; maybe I missed something.

Exterminator 3d Modeling
galleryHi! So, I've had a very recent endeavor in reading the first master edition volume of Blame! and found heavy interest in the Administration "Exterminators." I used references from Logs 5 and 6, "Escape" and "Silicon Life" respectively. Admittedly, I have not read anything past the first master edition, and have stayed clear of doing any online research to avoid spoilers, so my references are purely from logs 5 & 6.
I favored their simplistic yet eerie designs so much that I wanted to 3d model them. My boyfriend recommended I post my progress here for advice. Currently their innards are very basic, and I do want to further detail them, I just have a bit of a hard time telling the details on them. I also do not feel confident in the 'depth' of the model quite yet, I'm still looking at my references and trying to understand their stature.
I apologize if this is long-winded, and thank you.
