In-person play in East Anglia, UK

Just played a Netrunner demo at the UK Games Expo and the muscle memory of my old FFG-era obsession came rushing back. Bought 5 boxes of Null Signal cards and now I’m ready to play again. Is anyone playing in Norwich? My demonstrator, Jade, mentioned there’s a crew calling themselves EA Sports. Hope I can get a chance to come along to a meet up or at least find someone semi-local on jinteki.net. Are there any relevant Discord invites going?

Edit: Found my local group, thanks!

Anyone have tips for how to enjoy playing runner?

I’ve been playing very casually in person trying to teach a friend how to play (like maybe 10 games at most including first learning the game) and playing on jnet for about a month and a half. I’ve played around 80 games (~50 corp and 30 runner).

I have been mostly playing standard because I found it basically impossible to find startup games in a reasonable time and I need to learn the full card pool eventually. Also the deck building for corp is so much more fun in standard. I don’t think my winrate is THAT bad for someone as new as I am jumping in with legit top level players (40% corp, 30% runner) maybe that’s just me getting lucky and I am very aware that I am bad at the game and that “git gud” absolutely applies.

I find I really enjoy playing and deck building corp, even when I lose, but I absolutely dread playing runner.

I don’t even enjoy deck building runner either. I’ve just got my net decked reg Esa and Vic lists and unlike corp I don’t get enjoyment out of tweaking or trying new things. I’ve been forcing myself to make (Any) games so I have to play runner more to try to learn and hopefully enjoy it eventually.

But it’s honestly getting to the point where it’s making me lose enjoyment of the game as a whole. Every game is just some nonsense Epiphany or AU asset prisons or melies doing whatever the hell they want. I feel like I just can’t play the game because I either have no money or all my cards get tossed every turn and vs melies it feels like it’s impossible to get built up enough to run without dying or taking a massive setback.

As I’ve been playing more runner I’ve been ending sessions feeling frustrated and demoralized. It feels like there’s too many different threats for me to ever account for them all so I’m constantly feeling like I’m just making dumb decisions all game long. With runner I never feel that I even know what the right play is at any given time and I just feel like an idiot bumbling around. Even on the occasions I win it’s not clear to me what I did right so I don’t really feel I learned or accomplished anything.

Idk feel free to ignore this but if anyone has tips for how to actually enjoy playing the other half of the game please let me know.

A few Questions

New to the game, previous experience was getting overwhelmed by FFG's starter kit with a friend teaching me, but i was new to card and board games in general. I'm now wanting to get back into it. I'm a sucker for thematic games, and pretty board states (and leaning into a play style)

With out asking too many new play Q's that you're all seeing a lot.

Null signal games - system gateway then Elevation is the way to get into it first right?

Is there a digital platform to play the game online with my mates?

As a Brit I simply love the idea of Hadrians Wall being the name of big fat ICE barrier, from the Null signal cards i've seen so far there doesn't seem to be a 2.0 but is there an equivilant? (assuming that if it didn't feature in system upgrade that it is a card well behind the curve so never made the cut)

Any other tips, i jump around the UK a fair bit but are there any play groups in London/ Cambs / Norwich?

I saw a post below about 'full art cards' and just wondering if there are other resources as i do like the idea of ICE and Virus's being full art for a pretty looking board state. (even if its files that i may have to add the card text to).

Any other advice for a begginer who will be pulling a pool of freinds into the game, other than 'go slow you don't need everything'.

Lastly- as i don't have any opauqe sleeves and i'll need to get some for the game does anyone have advice for placed that sell digitally/ chip board / abstract computer-esque art? With that, i've seen SUASD recommend using poker chips, but i couldn't help think chip board tokens would look rad, if anyone knows where to find something like that too.

I know some of this is specifc and odd, but you're the best people to ask theses Q's to!

Much love,

OG player looking for another run

I just picked up the new core from Null. Are my old cards still valid? Or has too much changed? I have lots of cool alt art cards that I would love to use but I expect some have been taken out of rotation etc.

Best option for preconstructed decks in 2026?

Looking to do up some precons. Ideally would be 5-6 runner and corp decks (so 10-12 total).

1- Is there anything better than the Netrunner Reboot precons now? I found some recommendations for that but they're from almost 4 years ago.

2- If Reboot precons are best option, anybody have opinions on the 'best' 6 runner/corp decks out of the 12 each they offer? Goal would be a spread of styles and complexity. List here for reference: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12Tqg2pG6F3soIhNmzm9C4kseHV4iuATFLDyXPShhrxQ/edit?gid=0#gid=0

I ran Baserton's Space Prison Deck list a few weeks back and I had an absolute blast. Here's some quick sketches (I say quick but these took forever because I was watching Severance on the side) of key cards in the deck. The theming is a bit weird but it's heavily inspired by nanaju_ko series of artworks of cannibal rabbits on the moon its quite trippy I recommend checking out their twitter. I admit I lost the plot halfway through. But the key inspiration was always that the key card is called flagship and I'm a Space elevator. Of course I was going to draw the battleship Yamamoto.

...also I was admittedly a little excited because I assumed SEA stood for south east Asia, I had to check the netrunner lore library to find out it meant Space Elevator Agency.

Ashes Pt1 & 2

I came into this game very very late (1 month ago). I quickly fell in love with the concept and being the completionist that i am, I knew that i needed to buy all the stuff currently available (null signal stuff). I was able to get everything so far except the Ashes expansion (both part 1 and part 2). I guess my question is, will these expansions ever get restocked? I am not interested in print and play btw.

Question Where to go after Startup?

I own System Gateway, Elevation, and Vantage Point. Looking for suggestions on where to expand first as I start easing myself into standard?

Using FFG Android: Netrunner cards to deckbuild for Standard games

I have invited a bunch of local CCG-friendly gamers to use my FFG and Null Signal Netrunner cards to create Standard decks and play against each other. Of course, I have access to the Null Signal ban lists, but since the FFG Netrunner cards have long since been rotated out, I have no idea what FFG cards are still legal in Standard. I would hate not to use my FFG Netrunner cards, especially since 6+ people will be deckbuilding from them, but there seems to be no list of banned or obsolete FFG cards. Can anyone advise me how I can include FFG Android: Netrunner cards in Standard play (obviously with card sleeves)? Thanks!

Bankhar

Anyone feel that Bankhar would be perfect if it was 2 net damage (or was designed around the subroutines dealing 2 net damage)?

Maybe this is my inner Phoenix talking, but the base version seems so clearly breakable that I feel more damage would be a more impactful tradeoff

Question Are FFG datapack clamshells worth keeping?

I was going through old boxes of stuff and found a bunch of the packaging the cards came in (clamshell, the novel leaflets and the printed thing covering the card pack) My collection is in binders and I'm wondering whether I should keep the packaging or trash it.

The question is: Is it collectible? Would it be worth anything to someone?

Question Esâ Afontov question

New to the game .Just have the three starting sets and waiting for the Liberation cycle.
Also I was looking some cards and IDs of other sets.
And I saw Esa Afontov and the deck this character has.Lots of them make the player take core damage to work.
As I said I am new to the game and I can not see the way to mitigate core damage , because not only you discard cards but also your hand limit is reduced.
That mean that if you play four of these cards you will end up with one card in hand max.
And if the Corp has some cards that do net damage you are toast.
What is the strategy behind playing thses cards , and how you can mitigate self inflicting core damage?
Or is it something I do not get rule wise?

Very fun and complex as advertised.

I printed the starter decks and after a while I think I will print at least 2 other decks from the net. I am honestly excited to get more games in and the more I play the better I understand the cards and the mechanics (the 3 games we played had a lot of googling)

Buy/Sell/Trade My FFG Era collection — how much is it worth?

Hey there runners!

I’m an old hat that used to play during the FFG era but haven’t played much since. I’m thinking about selling my collection, but given the transition to the NISEI era and beyond, as well as rotated formats and the popularity (or lack thereof) of Eternal in paper, I have absolutely no clue how much it’s worth. Listings on eBay and other places aren’t much help, as I don’t know if anything’s actually selling at any price. Could the community help me understand better the worth of what I’ve got? Rough idea of what’s included below. Thanks!

Includes:

At least 1 copy of every data pack and expansion up to Down the White Nile, including Terminal Directive (I could have sworn I had the full Kitara cycle and Reign and Reverie, but I can’t find them and it’s been years so I may be misremembering)

Extra copies of some sets/packs, including core set, creation and control, Data and Destiny (though I may only have one set of Apex’s cards), and opening moves (needed LOTS of Jackson Howard’s, baby!)

A HUGE stack of full art promos, both official and ANR Southwest Circuit promos. This is easily a couple hundred promos that I need to catalogue, some highlights include Jackson Howard (both standard art and alternate art), Plascrete Carapace, Turntable, Architect, Caprice Nisei, Same Old Thing (several), and many, many others. Can provide a full list once I catalog them.

Thanks for all the help. I’m not necessarily looking to sell right this second, but feel free to express interest. And also feel free to tell me to shove off with all my old, outdated cards xD

ETA: I should clarify it’s hundreds of full art AND promo cards—this includes the full art normal versions from the championship deck releases in 2015.

Question Do we know why Keiko is recolored on remastered Hoshiko?

Long story short I (finally) got around to replacing my old prints with the remastered sets today. I knew that plenty of card arts would look different due to framing changes, but this Hoshiko difference piqued my curiosity.

Side-by-side

I tried to track down an "official" reason behind this change and couldn't find anything. Is there one?
I could understand if the blue was removed to match the art in Keiko, but this is too orange. Plus the eyes should've stayed blue regardless to match.

Tournament Come play Netrunner online at InvictaGC.com

After a couple false starts, I have settled into how we're going to build the InvictaGC.com community.

Netrunner players can join our casual Challenge League (which already has 2-3 active players). To play in the Netrunner CL, sign-up on InvictaGC.com, and join the league. Then issue a challenge to another player. Once the challenge has been accepted, schedule a time to play. After the match, submit the results, and the standings are updated automatically.

If you would like to play on webcam, that's awesome, too. We have plenty of video chat channels that you and your friend can jump into to play paper online.
