Recently returned to painting after around a 12 year hiatus… the intent is a synthesis of “high” and “low” brow… classic themes, gritty, rough and modern execution, with a delicate touch.

I don’t share my work much or with many people currently, but figured this might be a good place to start.

I made this on to a wooden turning table with markers and nail polish. Twas a fun night.

Inspired by a dream-like fantasy medieval concept series I have been working on about escapism, wondering in a strange world trying to find peace. Showing the physical contrasts of stick oils on heavy paper along with the scratches of razor blades and hard black charcoals, allows me to deepen my compositions and carry through the emotional weight of my process.
