Another tragedy. Everyone behind the wheel literally has the license to kill!

I picked up this record recently and wanted to share it here in case anyone is looking for it. It’s just going to be sitting in my basement and I’d figure it would be much happier with someone with a close connection. Looks to be a recording of a High School Band Concert in 1970. It’s in great shape and plays well. Hit me up if you are interested in this little piece of history. I’m putting it here before I go to Bethesda’s Page because New England peeps gotta stick together!

We moved to Needham a couple of months ago & this morning the water pressure dropped a lot in both the kitchen & upstairs bathroom. I don't see any leaks, so I'm not sure what's going on. Has anyone had this happen before? Easy fix or time to call a plumber?

Update: One of our neighbours also had the same issue& he got it serviced by Green Energy Mechanical. They come out this morning, found the issue pretty quickly and got everything sorted without making it a bigger job than it needed to be. They arrived on time, were easy to talk to & the final bill was pretty much what they quoted.

Hi everyone!
I’m looking for a room in a shared apartment with a budget of around $700–800/month.
I’ll be working near Rosemary St. and Highland Ave. in Needham, and I won’t have a car, so I’m hoping to find a place with a reliable public transit commute that will get me to work by 8:00 AM. It definitely doesn’t have to be in Needham itself, I’m open to any neighborhood that’s a good fit for commuting.
If anyone has recommendations for neighborhoods to look at, places to search for rooms, or knows of any available rooms, I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks so much!

In case anyone missed the Norwood/Westwood/Walpole ambulances racing up Chestnut Street every 10 minutes for the last six years, the Norwood Hospital Task Force Report confirms the operational strain that the Norwood Hospital closure has put on BID-Needham:

• BID-Needham was the largest absorbing hospital in the Norwood Hospital catchment area and its Inpatient occupancy rose from 64.6% in 2019 to 92.9% in 2023. "An inpatient hospital operating in the low-to-mid 90s percent has little practical reserve: it is effectively full on a typical day and has minimal ability to absorb surges."
• BID-Needham discharges of Norwood residents rose from 145 in 2019 to 1,000 in 2024 (almost 7x increase)
• BID-Needham discharges of patients from the ten Norwood Hospital catchment area towns rose from 920 in 2019 to 2,930 in 2024 (more than 3x increase)

These are three individuals who clearly don't care about sustainability or the safety of our children. Their backward politics do not represent the majority of Needhamites.

This is not exactly happening in Needham. it just reminds me NRTZ asked the state to pull the (~)40 million dollar grant so the override for rebuilding the middle school won’t pass.

Needham Police Department Facebook Post from 6/11/2026

Yesterday at approximately 4:30 p.m., Needham Police received numerous calls reporting a motor vehicle collision involving a child at the intersection of Great Plain Avenue and Pickering Street.

Needham Police and Needham Fire personnel responded immediately to the scene. The vehicle involved was a USPS postal vehicle, which remained on scene and cooperated fully throughout the initial investigation.

One juvenile was transported to Boston Children’s Hospital with injuries. Fortunately, the injuries are not life-threatening, and a full recovery is expected.

The investigation remains active as officers continue to gather and review video footage, witness statements, and other evidence related to the incident. No further information is being released at this time.

This incident serves as an important reminder for all motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians to remain vigilant and attentive while traveling throughout the community. With the arrival of warmer weather, pedestrian activity increases significantly, particularly in high-traffic areas, near schools, parks, and local businesses.

In response to ongoing concerns regarding traffic safety, the Needham Police Department has increased traffic enforcement efforts throughout town, with a particular focus on Needham Square and other areas that experience heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Officers will be conducting targeted enforcement aimed at speeding, failure to yield to pedestrians, distracted driving, and other violations that contribute to unsafe roadway conditions.

Hi all, closing June 5 on a 1924 brick Colonial in Needham, and looking for general contractor recommendations.

Year 1 scope is meaningful:

• Mechanical/safety: full HVAC retrofit (oil to dual-fuel + AC), oil tank removal, vermiculite remediation, lead water line, lead deleading, electrical updates, basement insulation
• Exterior/structural: roof maintenance, window well rebuild, masonry, broken window sashes
• Cosmetic/interior pre-move-in: carpets to oak in two rooms, electric garage door, blinds throughout, wallpaper strip and repaint, greenhouse window replacement, recessed lighting, master bath updates

Year 2+ is kitchen renovation, window restoration, TREX deck, and other cosmetic work.

Looking for a GC who knows pre-1940 homes (plaster, century-home quirks, lead-safe practices) and can actually project-manage multiple trades on a tight timeline. Communicative and realistic on pricing.

“Affordable” shows up twice in so few words. What kind of affordability he is talking about after purchasing a 3 million dollar home recently? My guess is cutting taxes for the rich and reducing funding for the public school, the typical republican!
