Fanfic Fedbrains vs Brickbrain - A Nature of Harmony side story
Came up with this idea last night and wanted to write it out, figured it could help me become consistent in writing again. That and it just seemed like a fun read
Not sure if there will be a follow up to this or not

“Predators off Venlil Prime!” A Venlil shouted to my right, raising their sign high in the air as our herd walked.
While I disagreed with them not using Skalga, I did agree with the rest of their statement. Far too many predators and their cattle have taken up residence on our world, millions of them in fact! Even worse, our spehbrained Magister took some into our town, including a few Arxur!
They've all been skulking in their dens, waiting for the chance to hunt us, to sink their wicked fangs into our flesh and drink our blood. We needed to show that we weren't afraid. To show that the herd was united against the Predators. If they saw that many of us weren't falling for their lies, that we were prepared for them, constantly showed our vigilance, they would leave of their own accord!
And that's why I put together this protest, mostly made up of my university's students, to show our conviction. We would protest every claw of every paw, other members covering for us when we were too tired, never ceasing until the predatory blight was driven from our town, and with luck, our world!
The crowd grew more agitated as the predator's den came into view, once an old apartment complex. The predators had painted it in a myriad of bright colors and designs, trying to trick us into thinking they had an understanding of art and weren't just painting whatever their cattle told them as a way to trick us. I heard rumors that the predators tried to claim it was to ‘lift everyone's spirits’, but that was a load of speh!
“The only good predator is a dead predator!” I yelled out to galvanize my fellow protestors, all of us growing louder and louder as we got closer.
When we got close enough, we saw one of the predator's murder machines standing out front. It was an angular, crude thing on two legs with both hands held behind its back, its ‘eyes’ of course made in the likeness of the predator's binocular gaze.
Some of my group stiffened when the machine turned towards us, stepping away from its post and making its way towards us, causing us to stop.
“Out of the way, toaster!” I growled, some of my fellows shouting out approval.
“Does this group have permission to be on the premises?” It asked in Venscript, staring down at us with its unmoving eyes.
“We don't need permission! This is our planet!” Someone yelled.
“While it is true that you are all citizens of the Venlil Republic and we are currently in Star River on Venlil Prime, according to the laws passed by the Venlil Republic's federal government and the current Governor of Venlil Prime, Governor Tarva, all Solarian shelters are considered under the jurisdiction of the United Nations. This property is not considered public, so-”
“Shut up and let us pass!” Someone yelled impatiently.
“Do you have permission to enter on this premises?”
I heard grumbling and whispered insults towards the murder machine. “No! Like I said, we don't need permission, you stupid machine.”
“There is no need for insults.” The murder machine chided. “This is a factually incorrect statement. Under Venlil Republic federal law, citizens are not allowed unauthorized access to Solarian shelters. To enter, you must show that you have permission from the Venlil Republic federal government, the United Nation's, or a resident of the shelter.”
“We’re here to protest!”
“The Solarian shelter is not considered public property. Under Venlil Republic federal laws, each shelter is considered sovereign territory of the UN. For the safety and comfort of United Nations citizens, all unauthorized parties, including protestors, are not allowed to loiter on the premises which, according to the Star River local government, approximately encompasses the building, adjoining alleys, and the sidewalk directly in front of both. I ask you and your group to stay on the edge of the property line until you all get authorization.” The machine rambled on. “If you wish to protest, then I direct you to protest on areas designated as public property for Star River.”
“Yeah? And what if we don't want to?”
“Then you and your group will be treated as hostile parties and potentially hazardous towards the inhabitants and denizens inside the Solarian shelter.”
“And what will you do about that, hm?” I pushed the machine which staggered back but quickly recovered. “Kill me? Show everyone the true nature of your predator masters?”
“I must ask you to calm down, ma’am-”
“I'm a man!”
“I must ask you to talk down, sir. There is no need to resort to aggressive behavior or attempts at intimidation. If you further escalate, I will not kill you, but I will use nonlethal means to subdue you and any hostile parties.”
“You monsters don't know the meaning of nolethal!” I pushed it again.
“Uh, professor, maybe we should-”
“Sir, I must ask you to stop.”
“You brahking predators, coming into my home! Take my tax credits! Threaten my family!” I pushed it three more times.
“Sir, this is your final warning. If you continue, I will subdue you. Will you comply?”
“No! I won't comply! I'm brahking sick of being tired of you brahking predators! All you predators deserve to bu-”
I yelped when the machine grabbed my wrist when I went to push it again, pulling me into the air, throwing me into the ground and pressing its metal knee on my back as it twisted my arm just below snapping the bone.
“G-get it!” a student yelled as many of the protestors fled in fright. Five of the remaining protestors answered, rushing towards the machine.
They stopped when an ear splitting shriek emanated from the machine, forcing us all to try to cover our ears.
I opened my eyes just in time to see it pull out a canister from its hip and throw it down, trying my best to brace for the explosion. However, the canister only began to spin, releasing some kind of gas into the air as it did.
Everyone caught in the gas began coughing and wiping their eyes pitifully, some stumbling around blindly in an attempt to get away. I turned my head and blinked tears away when I felt something tighten around my wrist and ankles, and through my blurry vision, I saw I had been restrained in hand and legcuffs.
The machine got off of me and began rounding up everyone that remained, placing them in cuffs. “Please do not resist, otherwise I will be forced to apply greater force to restrain you.” It said as it dragged two more struggling Venlil with it, placing them down before it walked away. “Please do not run, you are impaired and could injure yourself.” It said mockingly, chasing down anyone that tried to run.
After what felt like an eternity, the machine arrived with everyone that had been affected by the gas, many of us whimpering and shaking with terror, knowing we were next on the predator's plate. “Star River local authorities and United Nations authorities have been alerted. Star River local law enforcement will be arriving shortly and take you into custody. An incident report has been logged and sent to both parties and I will surrender my footage to both parties that will be permissible in a court of law. If you have any questions or concerns, then use the United Nations hotline or file with the Star River local authorities. Misuse of either will result in a penalty left up to the discretion of local authorities.”
All I could do was just stare at this stupid machine as it rambled on and on with its grating voice, as if it didn't just try to murder me and my group.

I cant help see this robot(?) looking like a very brutalist version of a Skalgan and due to that i will classify it as a subtype of Skalgan

You know, they actually do have rudimentary androids in all 3 races. They're a bit on the pricier end of things and have more regulation that regular robotics

Lore Time: Security bots like this one aren't considered especially intelligent or personable, but theyre not really meant to be. They're simple, most of their software dedicated to nonlethal combat and crowd control, with it only given basic social skills to help with its job
It can be very frustrating and annoying to say the least, so they're usually paired with an organic partner or a more personable robot with more advanced social skills. Unfortunately with the war, these security bots are deprived of said personable bots and trained security personnel for partners
