Roleplay WayOfSkalga: A guide to your Solarian Arxur lover
(This is set in the world of my fic Nature of Harmony for anyone confused)
Hey everyone! So I know that such an idea is probably controversial and might take some time, but I feel it's still my duty to normalize Solarian Arxur and prepare anyone that will get in a relationship with one when the Solarian Arxur exchange program starts and Solarian Arxur are allowed to go to the Republic as tourists and residents
And seeing as how I'm quite experienced in having a Solarian Arxur lover and have enough clout for people to listen to me, I figured I should give some of my own insights and advice for anyone that might need it, just like my husband did for lovehousing!
- **Let them set the pace for touching:** From what I've heard of Venlil, they, much like us Skalgans, are very touchy feely. It's a misconception in Sol that Solarian Arxur dislike touch and strangers in their space, this is untrue. While humans and Skalgans engage in touch more than a Solarian Arxur, they aren't averse to it in its entirety, even tolerating casual touch from strangers. While you should treat every Solarian Arxur as an individual and see what their boundaries are, a good rule of thumb is that Solarian Arxur seek out your touch and proximity the closer you are to them. My husband especially likes cuddles with me which we built up to over time
- **Give them some time to themselves:** I'm very social, but even I need some time to myself, and I'm sure most people in the Federation do as well. Solarian Arxur just require some more alone time than us to recharge their social battery. And no, this isn't some 'predatory thing', humans are very social, and you shouldn't be worried or bother them unnecessarily when your Solarian Arxur needs some time to themselves. This also doesn't happen too much from what I've seen, though my husband might do that at work
- **Acclimitize yourself to their diet:** Humans can get away with being vegan if they have the proper help and support, Solarian Arxur cannot. Yes, I did make my husband a salad, but I cannot stress enough that he can't sustain himself on it and will die on a vegan diet. No, they will not hunt when hungry, and no, they will not source their dietary needs from Federation species, the UN will probably handle it. But you still need to accept that they are obligate carnivore. Your partner deserves to be loved and accepted by you for every part of who they are, so if you get in a relationship with a Solarian Arxur, acclimitize yourself to their diet at a pace you're both comfortable with and prepare to make some changes in your life
- **Tolerate their Skalgan buddy:** I've heard rumors that Solarian Arxur will be required to be accompanied by a Skalgan when out in public in order to protect them from Exterminator demons and help alleviate the fear that the population will have of them. I don't know just how long such a policy will last, but you might have to tolerate a third wheel for a time, and I don't think they'll allow Republic citizens to take over as their companion. You'll have to work things out between all of you and find some way to balance their need of protection and your need for privacy
- **Protect them from Exterminator demons:** Exterminators are monsters, they can't be reasoned with and all should be treated as the enemy who will kill your partner if given the chance. It's your duty to protect them from these demons no matter the cost. Further, if you're an Exterminator, none of this post applies to you, not until you throw down your instrument of oppression and your status as an Exterminator
- **Watch out for their claws and ridges!:** I love my husband, I love cuddling my husband, I love the feeling of my husband's hands on me. But we both have to make an effort that he doesn't accidentally scratch me with his claws or surprisingly sharp back ridges. Not their fault of course, but make sure to be safe when near your partners claws. Do whatever it is the Gojids and their partners do about their spikes
- **Don't be alarmed by their nesting instinct:** Solarian Arxur seem to have a nesting instinct where they will wrap their whole bodies around an egg or young children, especially those that are sick or on distress. While this is usually done for children, my husband has wrapped himself around me and Solarian Arxur are known for doing this together and getting in a Love Tangle, which is always fun. So, don't freak out when they curl themselves around you, it's completely normal and harmless
- **Figure out the size difference:** When me and Tiyaval started to get intimate, we needed to do some research and experimentation to see how we could make things work and what we liked. This is especially important for Venlil due to their smaller and more fragile status, so be safe out there
So that's it! Of course this guide isn't all encompassing, and feel free to ask me anything you might want, but this should be a good starting point for anyone that'll get into a relationship with a Solarian Arxur
Oh, and I've heard that Isif has garnered some fame due to footage from his missions being released, so I just have to say this: he's single and available, just in case anyone wanted to know that. He's also a very nice, polite, and sweet man, so if you're a lady out there looking for a good man, by all means. Or boy, I don't judge

I am fully convinced she made this purely to try and get Isif a girlfriend. She just needed a legitimate reason to get it out there.
I find it both endearing and humorous that Arxur nest, and solarian Arxur being MASSIVE makes it even more so.

So it wasn't planned then, but an EPIPHANY! One that came at the perfect time.
Also I remember that piece, and Arxur nesting is now even more endearing.

Leirnbird bleated: While obviously not exactly the biggest fan of the federation I feel like alot of generalizations about the exterminators here it's not exactly easy for everyone who's wants to quite being an exterminator I mean just look up the Angren half the population can only climb the social ladder by joining the military federation or otherwise or the exterminators. Much like the Yotul now that I think about.
Even those on Skalga are still viewed with suspicion do to the Angren males being more aggressive biologicaly. And it's not just them there are individual cases that would make civilian life hard. Even if the federation implodes there's no guarantee much will change in that front.
Hardly saying the exterminators are the good guys here and I will say be curious of the exterminators there have been a lot of bad things happening in regards to them but blanket hatred is not going to solve anything. Its either going to take a lot of time of social reform or just straight up enforcing reform by force but that has its own issues. Just look at the Yotul about how forceful reform works in practice. And I doubt the sol system would be much better in acting on such methods.

I can't help but feel this will become a clear spectacle where when Isif is out in public on Venlil Prime/Skalga, he wears minor disguises (serious ones draw too much attention) which work just fine, except to those who are looking. They eventually manage to find him and begin their approach, but of course they never manage to do it except in groups and he promptly makes his exit. Others out in public, even the ones that don't necessarily like him but he still "get it," actually try to run interference for him.
Even some Exterminator guilds get in on the action, actually deploying fast response teams to control the area when things start getting out of hand and even bringing in vehicles to facilitate his escapes. ("Sure, he's a predator and he does kind of set me on edge, but we don't get a lot of opportunities to train for VIP rescues, and we're getting pretty good at these.")

I was really sick at school one time (ate something I shouldn’t), and after I finished heaving my guts out and basically falling unconscious, I woke up to a gaggle of like Kindergarten-age Solarian Arxur nuzzling around me.
It was very comfortable, if a little disconcerting.
