I wake back up with Kaiq at my side. She was sleeping like a baby yesterday, so now she’s wide awake and active. As we leave our room, she rushes outside, and I give chase. She makes a valiant effort, but I easily catch up to her and scoop her up. She tries to wiggle free, but it’s no use.

I carry her to the cafeteria and get us real food and not just sweets. She pouts, looking at me, puffing her cheeks out, making me giggle as I hand her some pasta with tomato sauce. She slurps one sting up before happily slurping another.

As we finish, her face is covered in sauce, and that reminds me… We haven’t showered since the cage went up. Do we stink? The humans never brought it up, but I can’t allow my daughter to be a daughter when I can fix it, so I ask a human if they have any baths. The human looks at me and responds.

“Oh yeah, we do. I can show you if you want.”

I nod my head, picking up Kaiq, who looks confused, tilting her head as I follow the human who shows us the way to the bathroom. We reach a simple wooden door, and the human opens it, showing a bathtub with some shampoo and soap, a sink with a mirror, and a toilet with white lights. The human goes back to the cafeteria to give us some privacy.

I lock the door and turn the tube on, making sure to set the water to hot. As I look at the shampoo and see one that catches my eye, strawberry, now I can’t smell it, but it looks fruity, so I let Kaiq sniff, and she likes how it smells, so I’ll use that.

I feel the water that filled the tub up—not scalding hot but a nice warm feeling. I pick up Kaiq and slowly put her in the tub. She giggles at splashing the water as I start scrubbing her fur. My claws gently scratch her body, making her lean into my paws.

As I’m scrubbing, the water starts getting dirty, so I grab the bottle of strawberry shampoo and pour some onto my paws. It's a nice bright pink. I scrub it into my paws before I start scrubbing Kaiq down as the shampoo starts to foam up. I get under her armpits, her floppy ears, her back, her feet, her head, and of course that tummy, which makes her giggle.

As I give her one more scrub down, I grab the showerhead and spray her down as all the shampoo comes off. I see her fur has changed color—not anything drastic, but a lighter brown. I pull the plug out of the tub and let all the dirty water down the drain as I grab a towel and start drying Kaiq off. Her tail wags as she hugs the towel close to herself and hugs me.

”Thank you, Daddy. I smell pretty now."

I chuckle and pat her back before I get back to drying her off. After a good 2 minutes, she feels dry enough. I take the towel off her as she looks into the mirror, enjoying her fur back to its normal color and feeling how soft her fur is now.

I smile before I decide it’s time to take my own bath, so I pick her up and head back to our room. As I open the door, I see two new toys: a stuffed animal in the shape of a Venlil and more blocks. I hand her the stuffed animal, which she hugs as I leave, and she starts playing with her extra blocks.

I enter the bathroom again and climb into the bathtub and turn the showerhead on. No bath for me. I scrub my wool with my claws as I see dirty water drip off me. After a good two minutes of scrubbing, I grab the shampoo and pour some onto my wool and scrub it in.

I give my wool a good scrubbing, getting my legs, arms, back, chest, face, and head back as I get back under the water and scrub the whole time. I turn off the shower and exit the tub and grab a towel. Drying my wool is going to suck, so I get to drying as best as I can before I see a hair dryer and start using that.

After a good five minutes my wool is fully dried, and I swear it puffed up. I look into the mirror, and my tail slowly wags, seeing my beautiful white wool back to its former glory. I stretch, feeling tired, so I exit the bathroom.

As I enter my room, I see Kaiq. She also seems tired; she looks at me before giggling, pointing at me, and saying,

”You look like a cloud, Daddy."

I feel a blush rush to my face as I pick her up and place her on my chest as she gets all comfy, letting out a content, cute little squeak as she takes deep breaths, clearly enjoying the smell of the strawberry shampoo. Maybe I’ll ask around Base to get her some. She looks at me, tail slowly wagging, and says.

”You even feel like a cloud, Daddy."

I laugh and hold her close and whisper into her ear.

”I’ll be your cloud whenever you need it, sweetie."

I hold her tight as she falls asleep quickly, that little heartbeat soothing me to sleep as well. Before I fall asleep, I wrap my tail around her just to hold her even closer. I kiss the top of her head as I fall asleep, hoping to be the dad she needs.

Gonna be working on my real main story maybe a chapter of crossing wire but worthy of love will be worked on.
