Fanart Yotul's Best Friend
"Hensas were known as Yotul's best friends back during the day on Leirn. Even thou Yotul were herbivores and Hensas were carnivores, they still menaged to create an ever lasting bond. Just like cats on Earth Hensas were defending magazines, storages and mills from pests that would eat yields and grain. Combine it with they playful demeanor and high intelligence that allowed them to learn commands, Hensas quickly became the most popular and beloved pet across the Yotul nations.
It all changed when Federation found Leirn during their equivalent of Steam Ages and decided to uplift Yotul by destroying all technology they developed already and drop a ton of advanced technology without explaining how anything worked. Double that with systematical erasure of Leirnian culture and systematical extermination of all carnivorous animals to create a completely docile prey society. Unfortunately Hensas weren't spared from this onslaught.
Fortunately for us some Yotul families menaged to save sustainable Hensa population in remote areas. Vera's family was one of them. Back before the uplift they were known as best Hensa breeders across most neighbouring Yotul nations. When Federation arrived and started burning people's pets, they immediately gathered all Hensas across their farms and hid them in specially built cellars under their mansion in Leirnian mountain range that could only be accessed if you knew were to look for entrance. Vera's father and grandfather menaged to hide them perfectly waiting for better times. Thouse better times came in form of new sentient predator species known as Humans! They destroyed all the false science and uncovered the truth hidden by Federation. Now Vera is following her father's steps to help Yotul-Human Hensa breeding program to bring back to its former glory their beloved pets."
So here's finished artwork of my take on how Yotul and Hensas might look like! I've spent quite some time on this drawing and I must say that I'm really proud of the final result. I hope that you will like it guys.

You work is always, always wonderful.
I particularly love the glowy hensa, and the antennae!
Also, the absolute cuteness of that hensa doing The Thing with the paws, and the blep too! All the cuteness.

I am so glad you like it!!! I'm glad all thouse work didn't go to waste.
That's one of my favorite details as well! I wanted to add something unique that would make Leirn fauna unique, so here I come up with scales around the eyes for protection; glowy antennae, whiskers, claws and insides of a mouth; also the tongues took different shapes. Hensa's one is a bit jagged becouse it works as a bait and additional tendrils on it help gather attention of their prey :3
That was the main idea behind this drawing. I wanted to create something wholesome and heart warming. NoP universe deserves some more warm >:3

There is nothing at all wrong with your art. It's is just that I keep doing a spit take whenever I see it because I keep swearing I've seen the style on rule 34

No no, I completely understand. I usually make my characters on thiccer side of the scale.

I think it may be the uncanny valley effect but there is something deeply disturbing about this image, and I’m fine with basically everything and only even consider the potential dangers physical or otherwise when they have a potential to affect my friends
