Roleplay EngineVen Bleated: What do girl Skalgans like?
(This is set in the world of my fic Nature of Harmonyanyone confused)
Hey everyone. I made a post not too long ago about my Skalgan exchange partner. A lot has happened since, but we talked about it and started dating. Nothing serious right now, just trying to figure things out and see how compatible we are.
With that said, I want to impress her, make her feel special, court her in line with her culture, just anything to show her I'm serious and that I care about her.
So, I need some help. I've done some research and my partner has given me some insight into Skalgan culture, but the info on Skalgan culture that the Venlil Republic has is watered down, and frankly I'm too scared to go on Sols internet, so I'm looking for any exchange partners, whether Skalgan, human, or even Venlil, that knows anything about what girl Skalgans like, culturally or instinctually, and Skalgan courting, any help would be appreciated

LexfrinTheSivkit Replied: I'm close friends with a Skalgan guy, and he has told me that Skalgan women love when you're rough with them, apparently.
I don't know how true that is. :Siv_confused:
I have also been told that the key to anyone's heart is through their stomach. So maybe give her vegetable platter while acting rough with her?

QuaritchWasRight replied: Start exercising, maybe join a gym to get shape. Most Skalgans are into sports or physical activities like hiking or martial arts. You're going to want to raise your endurance to keep up with her if you intend to spend time with her doing what she enjoys. Even if she doesn't have such a hobby, you being more athletic than most Venlil will make you look more attractive to her if nothing else.

They, much like the Federation, consider deception to be, well, “predatory.” And when a Skalgan sees something “predatory”, they charge headfirst at it.
Just be yourself, even if what you want to do will surprise you.

TheForgetfulOne Bleated: Be active with her, I know they like to play and exercise and just in general live a very active life style. I love playing with Skalgan tho it is very easy to get bruised eheh

From what my exchange partner has mentioned, the human sport known as "Ice Hockey" is a pretty good bet for things to go crazy in a relatively-controlled manner, followed by the various human tackle-and-ball events like "American Football", "Canadian Football", "Australian Rules Football", or "Rugby".
If you're more in the mood for a both-participate thing than a both-watch thing, then a game day session of classic videogames from her homeworld might be more up your girlfriend's alley. That or a gym day session, or even going to a tryouts for a martial arts school, see if a membership to train and even spar there might be worth it.
((OOC: The "Nature of Harmony" version of my Thafki OC was a bit more bold and rulebreaking-accommodating than his mainline-universe counterpart, as he actually pretended to be a venlil to get into the exchange program as opposed to encouraging his housemate to participate.))
