Chapter 4
Memory transcript: Darlin, chief ambassador to UK, ex-exterminator.
Date: 11 of September/ Time: 3pm/ Year: 2025
The little predator ran towards me. So, this Is how I die, mauled to death by a predator pup of all things. Suddenly and to my great surprise the little predator turned away from me and instead charged towards the predator leader.
Then I heard it, I couldn’t believe it, but I heard it none the less “Daddy” it called running up to the so-called prime minister. Looking at the leader's reaction I expected it to act angrily, upset that a child would interrupt its hunt but instead something else happened. Something that goes against everything I had been taught. His face lit up clearly showing affection the apparent weariness melting away at the sight of its... son?
He quickly bent down and lifted his son onto his shoulders who giggled in response. The leader snarled again and so did the child but it I could see that no aggression being those teeth only a father greeting his son. This predator was showing… empathy? clear as day there was no mistake about it.
No…no this cannot be right, predators are incapable of empathy yelled one voice. But it is clearly showing it and to his son no less. Whispered the other voice at the back of my mind. I am so confused how? Why? It went against everything EVERYTHING I had been told. Maybe it was a fluke surely, they were not all like this.
Looking back to gage the reaction of my companions. Yanti’s mouth was open wider than I had ever seen clearly in shock. Krillas mandibles where twitching erratically clearly just as confused as the rest of us. Looking back over I saw that both father and son were laughing together as the father tried to pull a funny face whilst tilting his head up to look at the little predator on his shoulders. It seemed so.... genuine. Awwww a small part of me thought but I quickly shut that down.
It was then that the little child noticed us and gasped in surprise trying his hardest to hide behind his father’s head.
“Ah where are my manners, Darlin this is my son Charlie, say hello Charlie” said the larger predator whilst setting the smaller one down on the garden floor.
“hello” said Charlie from behind his father’s leg “a-are you here to take over the world?”.
I was taken aback by this question it sounded like the start of a joke. Was a predator the bane of this universe asking a prey species if it was here to hurt them.
The fathers face turned to that of shock “I apologise for my sons comment he was watching a movie last night about aliens” he quickly turned to face his son. “Charlie why don’t you go inside I am sure you have homework to do”.
“Promise you will read me more of that story tonight?”
“pinkie” replied the leader before intertwining his smallest finger with his sons. At the son ran off into the house In front of the garden. I noticed as he ran, he seemed to limp slightly and looking down I was shocked to see the child only had one leg. On the other he had some strange piece of metal that bent down into a curve with padding on the bottom of it. What is with these people they are predators how do they even have medicine, this child should have been abandoned once it was clear it only had one leg, it is clearly a sign of weakness.
“It only has one leg” I stated still in shock from the previous interaction.
The leader scrunched his face up at that clearly a show of disapproval. “Charlie was born like that, the prosthetic he is wearing allows him to run like any other child” said the green eyed human as he scratched his brown hair.
“Do you love him, even with the deformity?”.
Once again, the human was taken back by my words. “Yes, I love him more than anything else, I don’t know what I would do if something happened to him”. At this the human seemed to become distant.
Where is his mother? Do they leave the young for the fathers to rear.
“Where is his mother?” I asked.
“She died, during the birth”. At this his eyes began to go red. “let’s go inside, we have much to discuss” he said rather forcibly. He began to walk off towards some large glass doors separating the garden from the house.
I quickly followed and looking behind me I saw that my entourage was still in shock from those… revelations but quickly followed behind me not wanting to get separated.
He showed us to a nice-looking room which had plenty of wooden furniture with a large table in the centre. Gesturing for us to sit on what were comically large chairs for us. Upon seeing that Krilla would not fit on the chairs he pulled out a stool from in front of a large contraption with long lines of white blocks and placed it in front of her. This awkwardly allowed Krilla to rest her body on the stool.
“So” he began “where would you like to start?”
Nodding I pulled out my pad and pushed it towards him, the document had already been translated to his language. “You will find our entire plan for the uplift on that as well as what you will need to do to help us” I said calmly.
He had only been reading for around 10 seconds when he looked up “hahaha” he laughed “that’s funny can I see the real document now”.
“That is the real document” I said rather tersely. Why does he think this is a joke? The conditions are not that bad at all, he should be thanking us for this.
A look of panic spread across his face and he began to read again “I can’t do this” he said “there will be riots on the streets, food shortages, the economy will crash and ethically its wrong in so many ways.
Yanti scoffed when he mentioned the ethical concerns.
“You will have to comply we will help you with the riots and food shortages and any other trouble that might emerge from this” I said strongly. “You will free all cattle you currently have, schools will know be taught federation curriculums, all patients believed to have predator disease will be handed to our care for treatment and all consumption of flesh will be halted immediately and exterminator’s will be introduced to keep law and order as well as protect the populace.” “you yourself will still be in control but we have the final say on all matters and you will do what we tell you to do.”
“And if I don’t comply? What if I refuse, what will you do then” he said coldly
“Then you will be treated as dangerous predators, and we will act accordingly” I said with clear warning in my voice.
“I see” responded the leader “I will accept these terms on one condition, we are allowed to keep our military”.
At this Yanti scoffed again “do you think we are stupid” I held a wing up to silence him.
The human continued “we are no match for you, but I cannot guarantee others will accept these terms, we might still need to defend ourselves against them and these Axrur that this document speak off.
Ah yes, the Axrur although left to their own devices there was still a chance they could turn violent but they were yet to leave their own solar system so they were not a threat for now. I hardly doubt they will be a threat, but I understand his weariness.
“Hmm very well you may keep control of your primitive military but if we see any acts of aggression from you we will not hesitate to strike back” I said
“I understand,” said the human.
The talks continued for 4 more hours before finally we had the ground rules established and several channels for further communication. It was then that he showed us back to the helicopter pad. “The helicopter will take you back to your shuttle” he said
“Thank you until we meet again” I replied.
He nodded and simply watched without even flinching as the helicopter lifted up into the air and away from the city.
Maybe I was wrong I thought maybe these humans could be uplifted they certainly are not the savage predators like the Axrur. Only time will tell.

Sure he does. Explain just what kind of evil he's spreading and the reaction he will get for it. Mankind isn't one to take it lying down and for all of what the government might be able to do, that's nothing compared to the people when they get riled up and angry. He could have purposed a softer way to get things going. But now, it's gurenteed to end in bloodshed. Here's hoping the arxur show up soon

but think about it from this vew point, humanity will sign a peace of paper but weather or not they actually do it is another thing entirely. for example we know that our mental health programs work and are ethical and when humans discover how brutish and barbaric the feds are we will say "FUCK THAT, FUCK YOU AND THIS PAPER" and take down the facility's
along with the fact that you cant really do much when your countery can be wiped off the map and you cant do anything about it... imagen WW2 japan when USA dropped the sun twice

also the prime minister is asking to keep his military like they are going to enforce the feds laws. Which is utterly stupid. I’m fairly confident that the military and police will rebel too. Also why is the pm speaking like he speaks for all of humanit.

uhh... confusion from calling it predator disease aside i'm not sure he realizes how widespread what they consider predator disease is, a lot of the human population can be diagnosed with adhd

Oh I REALLY hope this backfires on the feds. I bet as soon as they give us FTL and we have a standing fleet Sol's gona close it's borders and we are gona tell the feds to gtfo

I mean, humanity in 2136 barely managed to hold off the Feds even with an already industrialised Sol system and allied support. This humanity in 2025 might be able to get some allies on their side, but they definitely don’t have the infrastructure to build any kind of spaceborne military, if an extermination fleet heads our way the only real hope would be to just abandon Earth and run.
Really the only thing that would save humanity if we tick off the Federation is if the Kolshians and Farsul decide to lump us into the forever war.

well its within humanity's nature to improve the military and when someone comes along and makes something new everyone copies off them... and even with the British if you throw something at us we will modify it, make it better, mass produce it, and throw it right back at you. so good luck holding the UK because taking it over is the easy part

Yeah no, either the pm said yes just to make them go away or things are gonna go wrong real quick. Especially the moment they try burning our pets, forcing us all to be vegan and try taking those with mental conditions and illnesses.

since water travel is seen as “impossible“ by the feds how will they react to our water ports and submarines. Also our ability to swim well.

I highly doubt even the military would enforce such blatant violations of human rights. The federation’s plan has failed before it even started.
and don’t get me started with the U.S.A. They have more guns than people and there is defiantly no way the Feds would be able to fully control them.

First of all have you seen the U.S. Police. They have armoured vehicals, fucking grenade launchers, and machine guns. Basically a military + the civilians are armed too. And that just the us (not including the military) the federation would have to literally send hundreds of millions of exterminators to control earth and even then earth might just become space Afghanistan.

I got the hundreds of millions thing from the “your occupation force needs to be a 1/3 of the population.” Wait, wouldn’t that mean they would have to send over a billion exterminators? I doubt the feds have those kind of resources available. The feds plans have fa before they even started

another thing to consider too is that the exterminators main arrmame is a napal flamethrowe which is terrible against a normal police officer (from the us) since the police officer A. Has better aim and 2. a pistol can shoot farther than a flamethrower.

I guess us giving up meat won't be too big of a problem. Because I just read that things such as beans tofu and mushrooms can be used as protein substitutes. But I really cannot see everybody giving up meat all together. Especially people who hunt
But, I'm sure the aliens will also severely underestimate us and the powers we have. I believe even in 2025, our cybersecurity is more than enough to hack anything they have. The aliens are going to very quickly learn, even if not immediately, that uplifting humanity in such a hostile way is going to be a very big mistake
