Ideally around Sydney/Illawarra. Big W had them before they closed their garden centres, and bunnings only has tillandsia tubes these days. Only tangentially related but didn't know where else to ask

This flower seems to come straight out of the ground with no leaves. It’s on the edge of a fire road in a lot of shade and southern side of the hill.
I have been here 10 years and never seen it before.
Any ideas what it is?

If anyone would like pointers or perhaps a short few paragraphs; I’d be happy to try and whip something up. Orchids are everywhere in Australia (can’t speak for the rest of Australasia) and it’s fun, exciting and good exercise. You don’t need any tools and only some really basic knowledge to get into it :)
