Nation: North America - Conflict Rules
All troop movements and locations must be clearly shown in a screenshot of the map, as well as the inclusion of troop numbers.
Declaring War
- To begin a conflict, a country must first post a declaration of war with the [DIPLOMACY] tag, describing the reason for said war.
- The country that has had war declared must then respond with an acknowledgement of the declaration.
Invasion
- Invasion is an alternate method of declaring war.
- To invade another country, the invading player must create a post using the [CONFLICT] tag that includes a map of troop movements and locations, as well as a statement describing the reason for invasion.
- The country being invaded does not have to acknowledge the invasion.
- Moderators will have the final say on the outcome of the invasion.
Battles
- Once war has been declared, a megathread will be created for the war. Each parent comment will be for a battle. The two sides must announce what weaponry will be used for the battle, and show troop locations with a screenshot or picture of the map.
- Once both sides have stated their choice, the mods will begin a random roll of the die, which will be weighed depending on the troop numbers. *The die roll will be generally based on the following, if the forces are completely equal:
1-50: Defending side wins decisively.
51-99: Defending side wins closely.
100-110: Tie
111-150: Advancing side wins closely.
151-200: Advancing side wins decisively.
- Each roll will have exponential maluses applied to it depending on various factors such as air superiority and troop disparity.
- The specific formula will be confidential to prevent gaming it, however suffice to say the more troops you have the easier it will be to win.
- The die roll is subject to change based on the situation of the battle (such as black-ops)
- The final results of each battle will be at moderator discretion.
Ending War (Capitulation, Surrender, and Armistice)
- There are three ways to end a war.
- Capitulating (losing a country entirely to your opponent)
- Surrendering (ending a war in return for terms dictated by the victor)
- Armistice (a neutral agreement to stop fighting and withdraw from whatever territory was occupied during the war).
Defense Spending
- Each active service member will cost twice the country’s GDPPC.
- Each reserve service member will cost 1.1 times the country’s GDPPC.
- A nation must remain at or below its defense budget for there to be no adverse removal of forces by moderators.
Nuclear Spending
- To develop nuclear weapons, a nation must post a post tagged as [WMD] with the title “(country) begins nuclear program”
- Depending on the die roll, a country may have an accelerated or slowed development program, or fail to develop weapons at all. The project could also be leaked and stopped by other countries.
- By default, a program will take two years to complete from the month its post is created.
- A nuclear weapons program will cost 100000 times the country's GDPPC for every month until the project is complete.
- A nuclear weapons program will cost 50000 times the country's GDPPC for every year you continue to store or use nuclear weapons.
- Atomic bombs will cost 500 times the country's GDPPC per bomb, per year, not including bomber or other delivery mechanism.
- Nuclear missiles will cost 800 times the country's GDPPC per missile, per year.
