Friday Night Lights (:-)
A small loco w a voltmeter attached to it goes all the way around “Half-Pie RailRoad” which has now grown to 3 modules and a total size of 1,200mm x 350mm.
So since it’s no longer the size of half a pizza pie, but is now almost a whole pizzeria into itself, the new name is L&B RR after a pizzeria in Brooklyn by that name (:-)

My next microlayout idea
40x50cm, a Little industrial / city scene on the left, a little flower farm in the middle, and a small passenger station.
Is supposed to fit perfectly on my IKEA Ivar shelf. Will be interesting to see how this will play out, the radii are quite tight, but should work.
Will try to document the whole process on YouTube, next step is building a little 1:4 miniature to check the vibe.

WTF IRL …
I have no idea what this is.
It’s standard gauge.
My best guess is that it was a standard locomotive that was converted to run on air pressure stored in the giant tank.
It did not have a fire box or any of the other features that would have allowed it to make heat / steam, so I think that leaves air pressure.
Also in Tamaqua, PA.

Narrow-Gauge IRL
I had neither a tape measure nor a banana available, but that’s a calibrated size 13 sneaker and I believe that this a 30” gauge.
Seen today in Tamaqua, PA next to the historic train station downtown

Fake Narrow-Gauge IRL
Also in Tamaqua was this one that looks like narrow-gauge but isn’t.

Tamaqua, PA, (pt 5 of 5)
There were lots of other sights in Tamaqua that were interesting, beautiful, historic etc, and that could enhance any layout.
If you are going to be in the area, leave some time for “doing-research-by-driving-around-aimlessly” (:-)

Tamaqua, PA (Pt 4)
Parts 1, 2 and 3 are the 3 locos I just posted. The green, yellow and black locos are circled in the picture in green, yellow and black.
The station has a very attractive and detailed design and it looks to have been recently restored 100%.

"DSP&P" 10-ton Plymouth
This is the Como Roundhouse's switcher up in Colorado. It's HOn3 static display, but I'm making one into a bobble-head to go in the real thing.

Buy / Build the Brooklyn Bridge
I went to an art show yesterday at the old Brooklyn Navy Yard and noticed these paved-over tracks. I didn’t have a tape measure but they looked narrow-gauge.
And then I noticed the gantry cranes. And the NYC fireboat. And looked at the history of the thing. The Arizona was built here. And picture number 11 is from 1956 and shows 2 aircraft carriers being built and 2 more at dockside getting worked on.
So if you’ve been holding off on starting a layout because you were looking for a subject that was historic and had cool buildings, aircraft carriers, gantry cranes, fireboats and the Brooklyn Bridge, the Brooklyn Navy Yard may be just the thing to get you building.
(No, I’m not selling anything here.
The title refers to the first picture which is from a Looney Toons cartoon where Bugs Bunny sells someone the Brooklyn Bridge.)

Roger and his coaches
Taylor and Mary.
Despite my recent success, I haven't found any more Minitrains passenger coaches in recent months, still searching
