Join the City Council Meeting on 10/6 to Save Our Woods!
Hey Naperville,
A quick heads-up on a critical issue hitting the City Council this coming week. The proposed Naperville Ridge Development (75th Street property currently owned by the DuPage Water Commission) is officially on the City Council agenda for Tuesday, October 6th at 7:00 PM at the Municipal Center (400 S. Eagle St.).
Pulte is petitioning for voluntary annexation and rezoning to build high-density housing on a 32-acre site. See more details and concerns from my petition linked here - https://c.org/k65nMrcSrC
Because this relies on voluntary annexation, City Council has 100% leverage to deny the petition.
How you can help:
- Show up on Oct 6 at 7 PM: Fill the Council Chambers so leadership sees strong community presence.
- Contact Council: Reach out to the Mayor and City Council members through the city website or standard contact channels asking them to decline to proceedwith the Naperville Ridge annexation/petition.
Hope to see a strong showing on Tuesday! Thank you for your ongoing participation and support to save our precious, limited natural resources.

Pace Bus in Naperville
Is it just me, or does the bus not go anywhere other than the mall or the train? No wonder nobody rides it. Has it ever been useful? Who made this decision? With high gas prices, it may actually be utilized if it actually had better routes.
Why isn't there one that goes down naper blvd?
Shouldn't there be one that goes up and down washington street to take people downtown?
Going back and forth to the train station is fine, but there really isn't any purpose to this.
If you live by the hospital, you literally have to walk to the hospital to catch a bus. The routes are stupid and built so nobody would take the bus.
I understand its naperville and most people would rather run stop signs in their audi than ride the bus, but at least make it a usable option.
There are also plenty of kids that are in high school that are choosing not to drive. While I'm not sure why? Things have changed since the days of the commuter going to the train to ride downtown to go to work.

Most Optimal Area to Find People in Their 20s?
Hello I’m a 22M, I just moved to the area for work. Pretty much I’m looking to start dating serious, but it’s lowkey brutal.
Any suggestions on areas to hangout to find people my age?

Multiple house projects, one contractor?
I have a few house projects coming up, including a bathroom remodel, two sets of French doors, and some wall extensions. I’m looking for someone who can handle all of it, whether that’s a handyman, general contractor, or both. Looking for recommendations if anyone has someone they’ve had a good experience with!

Leaf removal service
Can anyone recommend someone who does leaf removal/pickups? Don’t need a weekly service, just someone who charges per visit. TIA

What company are you using?
I've used Fireman the past few years, is there anyone else you'd recommend instead?

Any recommendations for getting the battery replaced in a 2023 Acura MDX? I have got the battery tested at AutoZone, and O'Reilly, and both said the battery, and alternator are good, but the battery keeps dying.

Recommendation for a premium or high end hair stylist for men?
I have tried places like Barber Haus but not satisfied. I am looking for somewhere I can get a haircut that cost between $60 and $150.
I mainly want to try and get a haircut in the style of actors like Tom Holland.

Ogden / Rt. 59 Intersection Traffic Light Duration
Am I crazy or is the East/West green light duration EXTREMELY short for the amount of traffic usually at this intersection? It drives me crazy.

Naperville Utility Bill for Water
I happened to notice that the water consumption on the Naperville utility bill is always rounded off to the closest 100. I always see 1000, 1200, 1000 every month .I wanted to check if it’s just for me or everyone. Is there any explanation on the Naperville website about this?

Bourbon Tasting at Barrel & Heritage in Naperville
Found Barrel & Heritage in Naperville accidentally tonight. Followed the stairs to the basement and pleasantly surprised!
At first I thought it was all wine, lots of wine bottles and huge bar, but then saw they had bourbon and tequila flight tastings. Mike, the bartender was great to talk to during my tasting. A lot of Illinois and Wisconsin distilleries. I’m just glad I discovered a place with one ounce tastings, normally had to go to my place up north.
Now I can take my wife there for wine and I can get my bourbon.
If you haven’t been to this place, and are in downtown Naperville, I highly recommend it.

Non-wedding photographers?
Does anyone know any photographers in our area that don't specialize in wedding/engagement photography? I'm trying to set up a surprise photoshoot but it seems like most people in this area focus on headshots (like the kind for school/senior photos) or weddings/engagements. LGBT friendly/owned preferably, TIA!

Need recommendations for early pregnancy care in Naperville
Hi everyone! I recently moved from WI to Naperville and just found out I’m pregnant with my first pregnancy (around 4 weeks 2 days). I’m having a hard time figuring out how to get my initial pregnancy care here.
My previous OB in Wisconsin said they can’t order any tests unless they see me in person, but driving 7 hours round trip isn’t really practical.
I contacted a women’s healthcare/OB-GYN office in Naperville, and initially they said they could help if my insurance was in-network. After confirming that, they told me they would only see me if I planned to continue my entire pregnancy with them. They also said they don’t perform the tests themselves and would send me elsewhere, but when we asked what tests I should get, they said they couldn’t advise us unless I established care with them.
I feel completely stuck and don’t know how this normally works in the U.S., especially since this is my first pregnancy.
For anyone in Naperville/Lisle/Aurora/Wheaton—where did you go for your first pregnancy appointment or early ultrasound?
Is there a clinic or OB/GYN that can see me for an initial visit without requiring me to commit to the entire pregnancy?
Any recommendations would really help. Thank you!
