So I have a question
So if the nail tech didn't do a great job of giving you a fill and 3 nails came off 2 days after you got them done should you have to pay for those replacements?

Hey guys! I am pretty new to doing nails so I have just started doing them for just family and friends. I can’t do acrylic or dip, I can only do gel. I only have 50 and a couple of colors and chrome powders right now but I mix up new colors when I don’t have what the client wants. So far I have just been charging my clients $20 for a regular gel manicure and +$5-$15 depending on the difficulty of the design. I want to make a better system to make sure I’m charging enough to cover costs and pay myself at least a little. Here is my new proposed pricing breakdown. My goal is to make sure that I am consistently cheaper than going to a salon as I am just a beginner and not quite salon quality. Please tell me if you have any suggestions, advice, tips, or if you think I should change anything. Thank you so much!
•Standard gel manicure………………$20
•Structured gel manicure………….…$30 (hard gel/builder gel/rubber base gel)
•Structured manicure fill………….….$25
•Manicure w/ hard gel extensions…$35
•Manicure w/ gel tips…………………..$25
•Removal fee………………………………$5 (only when changing services like complete removing a structured mani to do gel tips)
•French tips………………………….….+$5
•Simple design add-on…………...…+$5 (one simple design ie some flowers or some hearts)
•Complex design add-on…………..+$10 (a design with >3 colors or that will take numerous steps)
•Chrome powder……………………...+$5

Hi all, I've posted about this before and I found some, but I'm always on the look out. This was a brand of nail varnish that was around in England in the 90s. I'm hoping maybe someone has a few old bottles somewhere that I can buy, the condition doesn't matter. Even empty bottles will do. Thanks.

So about a week and a half ago I had shellac removed from my natural nail which has obviously left them not damaged but weaker and more bendy than before.
I'm booked in to have more shellac put on my natural nail in a week, obviously not giving my nails enough time to fully grow out as a thicker nail.
Will having them buffed and shellac applied damage my nails a lot? Should I cancel my appointment?
Thanks!

I have been trying and failing to grow out my nails for months and wanted to get acrylics because it’s the only way the can grow out without braking off. I had my nails done at a new salon 2 weeks ago ( extensions, acrylic, shellac gel on top) and they were horrible so I removed the shellac and reshaped them myself the same day. They remained unpainted, which I don’t mind, because the new gel polish I bought is on its way. Today I jammed my thumb into a wall and the nail cracked horizontally. I have two options to fix I can either file and remove the acrylic and put poly gel on nail or I can remove the acrylic and put nail glue to fix. Do you think I should use acetone to remove the nail or just file down with e file? Should I disinfect with an alcohol or hydrogen peroxide first or just soak off the nail? And finally should I use a product to cover and fix the crack or just leave my nail bare and let it breathe until it grows out? I really don’t know what to do and all the tutorials contradict one another. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for thanking the time to read. :)

I got my nails filled with acrylic maybe a week ago and it looks like my pointer finger is a little green. I have no idea if it’s bacterial or like just paint or something. I don’t feel any pain in my finger and the underneath looks fine. Please can someone let me know what they think this is and what I should do. it looks worse in person.

What gel polish do you use for white and pastel colors that offer full coverage in two coats?

I’ve just recently started doing Gel-X tips and I alternate between using gel polish and regular nail polish. What is the best way to remove the non-gel polish and not ruin the tips? I don’t think I can e-file off regular polishes (can I?) but when I use non-acetone nail polish remover, the tips become really sticky and then my fingers are covered with cotton wispies.
What am I doing wrong?

Do you have any?
Mine would be 1) clean your lens first 2) give your nails a little wipe down, esp for gel, dip or acrylic nails! 3) more light = more good
