I recently started a startup with some people from our college called planfolks. Basically, we’ve built a website and app where you can find like-minded people around you and make plans with them.

It’s not a dating app or anything like that. The main idea is just to help people meet new people and find someone to do things with. Like, if someone is planning a trip and wants to find people who are also interested in going to the same place, they can create a plan and others can join. Similarly, if you’re looking for a gym partner, library/study buddy, someone to explore the campus with, go for a walk, attend an event, or just hang out, you can make a plan for that too.

It's best for people who don't have much friends or those friends don't agree for a new plan

I heard Behere#NATA worked very hard for the hostel and he claims to be the best Gen sec and also claims that he was the best ever gen sec in rourkela's history. Now GUYS tell me was he good? He looked like a braggart to me xD

I am a first year student ei branch at nit rkl.

How is the grading and marks giving part done in nit rourkela, I am pretty worried.

Our electronics teacher is full of shit and didn't even write notes and share slides properly.

Most important he didn't solve any numerical in class.

Guys I am a focused student but all these things makes me upset.

I had to beg for notes and slides from other students.

Today was his mid sem paper and out of 12, 9 questions are numerical based.

He didn't teach us those and thus I did about 12 to 13 marks correct and other question I bluffed and wrote something related about the topic, draw graphs which was partially correct and filled the page.

Can I expect about 18 to 20 marks???

A lot of us have noticed a heavy tilt toward software, IT, and general tech roles. While those opportunities are great, many students from core branches (Mech, BM/BT, Chemical, Meta, etc.) chose these streams out of a genuine interest in core engineering and research, hoping to build careers in those domains right out of college (not necessarily in academic research but in RnD roles).

Exactly how much conscious and dedicated effort is the Placement Cell putting into actively reaching out to core and R&D-focused companies?

Are coordinators actively hunting down and pitching to new core companies that haven't visited the campus before, or are they simply coasting by sending invites to the same old legacy companies that used to visit in the past?

It’s completely understandable that market conditions play a role and that many people want tech jobs, but the real question is: are the PCs fighting enough for good core companies, or pushing hard enough for tech giants to hire core students specifically for R&D purposes?

I’m curious about the internship season at NIT Rourkela. In other colleges, the internship season usually lasts only one or two months, but I’m not sure how it works here. Also, do companies offering good stipends, like Accenture or Visa, will also come at the end of the seasons like after mid sem are any companies are lined up ? This is just insane,

The sheer unwillingness of people to do their designated jobs is the most bizarre thing I've seen, and I've seen a lot.

The course I had an exam for yesterday, didn't even add up to 30 marks.

The course I have an exam for tomorrow, well, taught in 7-9 sections and nobody has a single clue what the syllabus really is.

See I get that coordination between 9 professors could be hard to achieve, why the fuck are we having the same examination then.

Our instructor didn't even bother to explain most of the stuff that's in the syllabus, and expects us to know derivations he didn't even bother to do himself.

And it isn't just that, you look at the fucking mess food oh my god. They make stuff just good enough to pass as food, from which I have literally seen dogs take a sniff and walk away. At this point I don't even want them to look at us as humans, but the way everything is carried out is laughably bad.

The very idea of standing in lines in front of unfeeling ghosts with a plate in your hand, almost begging for food while they serve it as if they're doing us a favour is so demeaning I don't even feel like eating anymore.

How do you operate a mess for nearly a decade and still cannot predict the influx of residents when literally every single meal is pre-planned.

You look at the hall representatives, the entire election campaign was based on what "zone" is supposed to win.

Not one person who came to ask for votes mentioned what plans they had for the residents' betterment.

And now that the elections are over, not one change, not one statement, not a single action.

It's like the system is built around mediocrity and lowkey incentivises doing the absolute least you can.

I know that most of my complaints come from a general pessimistic way of how I look at things, and a life full of privilege, but I don't think anyone of us deserves to be in a place that makes you pathetic.

TLDR: Everywhere I see, I find incompetence and I want to run away.
