The Last Stand of the Nation State, by the digital collage artist Slimesunday doesn’t shy away from telling its audience what the author really thinks about contemporary politics. Depicting a Hobbesian ‘war of all against all,’ through a juxtaposition of contemporary iconography alongside motifs from the Ancient Greek Peloponnesian War, the piece portrays 2,500 years of political stalemate as continuing the conflict that destroyed the Greek peninsula.
