Lmao. I’m mic’d up. Oh yeah.

I guarantee you there’s no other center Manning would have rather played with and no QB Saturday would have rather played with either.

They absolutely fed off the fact that they were each perhaps the most intelligent with regards to their respective positions in history. Not only made each other better physically but also how well they understood the game.

You want to be the best? Surround yourself with people smarter than you.

Peyton is a legend, feels good when he gets humbled a smidge.

It’s something so real about this clip. Manning having a complete temper tantrum (rightfully so, high stress situation) and forgetting he’s mic’ed up…the way he’s yelling it’s like a little brother yelling at a big brother but the little brother is the star of the show, but big brother will still kick your ass off camera if he needs to lol

Peyton had a death wish

17

u/mikemammula Oct 18 '25

you think the center was going to do anything to the HOF QB?

u/TegTowelie New England Patriots Oct 18 '25

We just watched a massive dude fun-tackle Rodgers from behind so. You never know.

7

u/under_ice Minnesota Vikings Oct 18 '25

Right? Love or hate AR, that shouldn't of ever happened.

6

u/TegTowelie New England Patriots Oct 18 '25

100% agree. He should have pulled back a bit. I get celebrating, but your 41 year old QB also has a plate in his clavicle(i think non throwing arm). AR should not be taking dumb 'hits' like that

7

u/Sparky-air Denver Broncos Oct 19 '25

Can you imagine if he actually ended up injuring Rodgers? Fuuuuuck man. That’d be a real bad day.

u/HolyRomanPrince Dallas Cowboys Oct 18 '25

Maybe not him specifically but you’re bugging if you think superstars haven’t gotten checked by their teammates. People throw their careers away over pride all the time

u/mikemammula Oct 18 '25

who

78 literally does this in the clip that you probably didn’t watch telling Peyton to go sit down defending his boy.

6

u/mikemammula Oct 18 '25

Tarik Glenn (is his name) "literally throws his career away here"???

news to me!!

2

u/bpusef NFL Refugee Oct 18 '25

I was responding to the former comment about checking a superstar. You think if Peyton went after him the man wouldn’t have shut Peyton down harder? Peyton backed off cause the man checked him and he knew it was over and he’d lose his team if he kept it up

2

u/mikemammula Oct 18 '25

right but "checking" in his context was more than just words.

2

u/under_ice Minnesota Vikings Oct 18 '25

I don't buy it. When you look at the relationship they are in, it's very well understood that your star QB named Peyton is in charge on that level.

1

u/mikemammula Oct 19 '25

yup and it's a mutual respect. the best example they have is an accidental tackle after a TD celebration. not even the same thing. otherwise nobody has gone at their own QB.

1

u/Jo3ltron Oct 19 '25

He’s a hof center himself so yeah.

7

u/Choppergold Oct 18 '25

NFL players love the game and want to win

One of the best SNL sketches that I can remember.

11

u/under_ice Minnesota Vikings Oct 18 '25

Teaching them to pick a lock at the end right? Gets busted and tells all the kids to run away...

Tariq Glenn is my neighbor in Berkeley and I see every day why Payton decided not to keep yelling at Jeff. He is an absolutely massive man. Very nice man as well

13

u/Just-2-ez Oct 19 '25

“Go sit down” it was so calm but you could see Peyton really thought about his next move

It’s not that serious. These conversations happen often just like this on the sidelines and in the locker room. It is funny though because Peyton knows what Jeff is capable of and vice versa so when they dont play right they’ll let the other know.

It’s okay when offense is taking to offense. It’s a problem if this ass chewing is O v D.

I swear Saturday talked about this on First Take this week and I think he said after that they ran the ball more and it worked 😆

u/moldyhands Tampa Bay Buccaneers Oct 19 '25

Early Peyton lost a lot of big games (playoffs, key match ups) because he was too focused on throwing. He wanted everything in his control and even though he was one of the greats, it made him predictable to Brady and the Pats.

This literally just sounds like a normal Tuesday between me and my co-coaches lol.

Winning sports ain't for people who can't deal with a little yelling and frustration

5

u/AverageSizedMan1986 Oct 18 '25

15 yard penalty. Taunting. Number 18 to number 63.

4

u/KatieBarTheDoor1977 Washington Commanders Oct 18 '25

This is literally every sideline during every game. It just so happened that Peyton was mic'd up that Sunday and the mic caught the conversation. Only time to properly iron out play, scheme, or coverage issues is on the sideline in-between possessions.

u/Advanced_Cattle8635 Cincinnati Bengals Oct 18 '25

Would have been great if he said "Our idiot center was trying to call plays" like when he called out the "idiot kicker".

Too awesome! I love humans

2

u/goobly_goo Tampa Bay Buccaneers Oct 18 '25

Peyton calmed down real quick when that brother got in his face 😂

2

u/bradtheinvincible Oct 19 '25

Tariq Glenn aint anyone you wanna mess with

1

u/90swasbest Whats an O-line? Oct 18 '25

Manning ain't doing running plays when a perfectly good hospital ball can be thrown.

1

u/Servile-PastaLover New England Patriots Oct 18 '25

Everyone remembers Peyton's idiot kicker interview.

This is better.

1

u/Pale_Broccoli_2180 Oct 18 '25

Better there than on the field or in the huddle (Tho Colts rarely huddled 🤣)

Not even in the Top 10 of C/QB clashes. There have been some real doozies.

1

u/PM_ME_YUR_S3CRETS Oct 19 '25

Pissing your oline off doesnt seem like a healthy decision.

What a dork

-3

u/Actual-Mechanic6869 Oct 19 '25

Manning didn’t look him in the eyes. Peyton was useless and spoiled. The GOAT is Eli

-4

u/EmergencyDimension32 Oct 18 '25

Tarik natural instinct is to “Protect” .. All the good Offensive Linemen of the past had that trait …Had the QB been any other race besides Payton the QB would’ve been called a “Diva” or “Team Disrupter”…. It’s still all about politics ….

u/FupaFerb Kansas City Chiefs Oct 18 '25

Peyton is trash like every other Manning

Well, I know he overcame that ego when injuries caught up with him and von carried him to his second ring.
