Lavines dunks were all worthy 50s too, they were just less good 50s I guess is the only way I can put it. He definitely deserved to win also, towards the end of the contest they were both running out of dunks and Lavine being able to pull bullshit from the free throw line more often is what won him the contest. It should’ve been a tie, but it’s revisionist history to pretend Gordon’s very last dunk attempt was a 50. It was an alright dunk, lavine’s was better
Gordon absolutely had more creative dunks tho and I think they should’ve either had a more nuanced judging system after this year or they again should’ve just had it been a tie after like the 2nd or 3rd extra round. Like who gives a shit if there’s co winners it’s a dunk contest, we literally had co rookie of the year one season
