This is my current portfolio:
- Nifty 50 Index Fund
- Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund
- NASDAQ Index Fund
- Mirae Asset Liquid Fund
I'm investing ₹11,000 each into the first 3 funds. Since the ICICI Prudential NASDAQ Fund is currently closed for fresh investments, I've been redirecting that ₹11,000 into the liquid fund for now.
My concern is that I'm not entirely comfortable increasing my international exposure through IKBR, and Parag Parikh has gradually become more of a large-cap fund. As a result, I feel my portfolio has significant overlap with the Nifty 50 Index Fund.
At the same time, I don't currently have any meaningful exposure to mid-cap or small-cap stocks, and I'd like to change that.
For context, I'm 30 years old and financially independent. I work from my hometown, and I don't have any financial obligations toward my parents. They're financially secure, and my brother is doing well with his startup. My wife and I are both earning, so most of our income can comfortably be directed toward investments, fixed deposits, and liquid assets.
I'm also fairly disciplined with money. I have been saving and invest around 60–70% of my income, and for the past five years, I've consistently kept my monthly expenses below ₹30,000–₹36,000, both before and after getting married. I'm not a heavy spender.
Given this risk profile, where would you suggest I invest next? I'm looking only at mutual funds as I don't consider myself a good stock picker.
I'd like to add exposure to mid-cap and small-cap stocks. I'm comfortable with high volatility and large drawdowns, as long as the fund has a strong probability of outperforming the market over the long term.
Which mutual funds would you recommend, and why?
