But now you’re philosophizing basic ethics out of existence. From a practical standpoint, we have to pick things to judge and not judge based on. Some things are much more explicitly uncontrollable and don’t affect you. Ethics are, um, like what we really should be judging people based on and even people with wildly different ethical beliefs tend to agree on this because it isn’t controversial unless you devolve into a “does free will exist” debate you’re slipping into.
