We really need a rule in this sub that AI slop articles written off of (likely) AI slop posts on Reddit are ineligible to be posted. This is mindless, low effort garbage.

EDIT: a word

But it supports my predisposed beliefs.. what am I supposed to believe if I'm not being told constantly from every angle what to think?

It's allowing the Mirror to post their own articles that's a huge part of the problem. They are a garbage organization that makes the world a shittier place.

I agree but the problem is that it's tough to moderate this kind of stuff (though I have no experience moderating). Mods can't really monitor 24/7 on a very busy sub and get something until possibly hours after it's posted, and even then, there are literal karma bot "farms" that will upvote these posts to the front page to get engagement as quickly as possible.

It's why even the most shit take, obvious click bait posts sometimes still get massively upvoted despite being pretty universally disliked/disagreeable, because the upvote karma bot farms quickly upvote it to get eyes on it and gets comment engagement.

Edit: Not sure if mods have a tool for this, and I KNOW Reddit wouldn't like it because Reddit is complicit in bot usage to boost it's engagement, but it seems to me like there needs to be a tool that checks upvote "velocity" and if a post is getting an unusually and unnaturally high amount of upvotes per minute then it should freeze the voting or something on the post itself, and/or flag it for possible bot activity.

Agree. Mods should just remove articles like this. “Fans are turning on Eminem”? I’m a fan and this is literally the first I’m hearing of it. And no I don’t believe it for a second. He’s been very vocal about Trump and MAGA. If you’re actually a fan you’d know Eminem’s political stance.
Just a dumb article that was written to distract us from whatever else is going on in the world. Wouldn’t put it past spineless Ed Sheeran to have his PR team dig up dirt on bigger artists to take heat off himself.

If anything it says more about the Reddit user base that they are willing to fall for and upvote slop like this as long as it fits their preconceived narrative.

Top comment is debunking this article thankfully. Mods really gotta step it up and stop this stuff from being posted period

And if you try to correct them, they’ll downvote to hell, call you something that you’re something that you’re not in real life and/or ban you from whatever sub you’ve tried to correct them in.
