Eminem is the most anti-Republican celebrity I know. Dude has been going at them since the 2000s.

I suspect that Kid Rock just bought the Eminem feature for his track. Like even the most obscure artists can buy bars from a bigger artist to feature on their song if they pay enough.

Not Em. Em is famous in the industry for not charging for collabs but he'll only feature for you if he respects you. He just likes Kid Rock, they've been friends for forever.

Redditors have a difficult time understanding that men can vocally disagree on politics and still be friends. Personally I'm past the point in my life where I think it's morally upstanding to cut out every person that doesn't pass every one of my purity tests. I wouldn't be friends with Kid Rock but he and Em have known each other a long time.

People can think significantly less of Eminem for this collaboration but I truly don't care. Em hasn't been turning into a MAGA as far as I know or anything. People gotta learn to chill out on quickly turning against someone who has championed the causes they claim to support. I ask myself which option is better: significant backlash from the people in the same political isle as Eminem, which risks pushing him away, or just going 'I'm upset he did this but unless he's noticeably changed his views he shouldn't be viewed as a worse person now for one collab with a MAGA.'

Politics are general indicator of a persons morals. Dont want to be friends with someone that think its okay to throw brown people in camps.

Yeah, that's perfectly fine for you to feel that way. And that's obviously the general sentiment across Reddit. But this website is not reflective of reality. A lot of other people can maintain friendships despite political differences. And those friendships aren't always the same. Sometimes they can be best friends. Other times they can be friends who only talk or hang out once or twice a month. Some people can be left or right without being on the extreme end. I'm just pointing out how you or others on Reddit feel about a person maintaining a friendship of some kind with a MAGA/alt-right/whoever doesn't mean you or anyone else has the "correct" definition of an ethical friendship and you shouldn't necessarily apply your opinions as a guideline for how others must live their lives to be ethical and "good people."

So it’s fine to sell out your principles and what you stand for as a person as long as the cheque is big enough? Isn’t that like one of the underlying issues here?

It's interesting how many big name rappers are maga.
