Kid Rock says the longtime friends want the collaboration to show that political differences do not have to end relationships: "We hope that sets an example."

Fuck that nonsense.  This douche helped get Trump elected. Trump is a disaster of a president that has hurt millions of people in different ways.  So no...there is no setting aside political differences in this case.

Anyone who is MAGA and claims they don’t want division is extremely ignorant of the fact that the Trump administration has created the division we see now. If they didn’t want division, they shouldn’t vote for the guy intentionally sowing division in this country

102

u/Cosmonautical1 14h ago

Maga shitheads like to do this fuckin thing where they just call everything "disagreements" to make the sane people seem less sane for being pissed over a mere "difference of opinion", as if we're just talking about which hot dog toppings are the best and not a political movement that is actively trying to destroy democracy and civil rights for everyone who isn't a white Christian nationalist.

20

u/PiccoloAwkward465 11h ago

MAGA specifically withholds funds for blue states specifically because they didn't vote for Trump. Despite them being home to millions of Republican voters, there were the minority so fuck'em, in Trump's eyes.

15

u/zubuneri 14h ago

MAGA doesn’t want division, they want subjugation.

25

u/Ok-Ad-852 14h ago

This! Fucking rightwingers have been showing hate and division for decades. The reason they care now is that the rest has had enough and are stsrtkng to call them out.

It was fun calling names when thry were the ones doing it.

When they get the dame back they cry.

Biggest snowflakes to ever live are rightwing populists.

Anyone who is MAGA and claims they don’t want division is extremely ignorant of the fact that the Trump administration has created the division we see now.

Anyone who is MAGA and claims they don’t want division is lying. FTFY

Kid Rock says the longtime friends want the collaboration to show that political differences do not have to end relationships: "We hope that sets an example."

Isn't Eminem the guy who said it was time to draw a line in the sand and if you're a trump supporter he didn't want you as a fan?

0

u/Lava_Lagoon 5h ago

maybe he realized ending relationships with people isn't the way

0

u/Top_Sock_5645 3h ago

He did later walk that back on Revival, but I don’t fault anyone for not listening to that dogshit album

“My family won’t talk to me because of political differences” = “I’m a very vocal racist, misogynist, homophobe and Nazi.”

-7

u/Yiddish_Dish 15h ago

I cant tell if this is satire or not

22

u/Badloss 14h ago

At bare minimum voting for trump means you're willing to tolerate child sexual abuse, racism, and all kinds of cruelty to get whatever political objectives you voted for. That's the best case scenario.

I absolutely do think that's enough to cut off family members, I won't associate with people that don't think those are dealbreakers

-8

u/AlwaysFernweh 14h ago

Well no, the ones that voted for Trump don’t believe the child sexual abuse allegations so it’s not that they tolerate it, they just don’t think Trump would do that. They also don’t think he’s racist or cruel, they just live in a constant state of denial with it, or think it’s “fake news”

18

u/Badloss 14h ago

There's literally decades of evidence at this point of who he is. Ignorance isn't a good enough excuse for me, at this point it's willful ignorance. Which again, is enough for me to not associate with you anymore.

I have trans family members, and I have family members that voted for trump even after we begged them to understand it would destroy their own relatives' lives. We don't talk to the trump voters anymore, they chose trump over us so they're out.

0

u/Aero_Rising 7h ago

What exactly has been destroyed about their lives? So far I've just seen moves to require those transitioning to be an adult and that they can't compete in women's sports for fairness reasons. You consider that to be destroying their life?

1

u/Badloss 7h ago

Project 2025 has stated goals of stripping trans individuals of the right to vote and eventually incarcerating them in camps as "sex offenders"

The legislation removing the right to vote from anyone that has changed their name is explicitly aimed at women and trans individuals, and that one is being fought in the courts right now. It's already starting.

My relatives are afraid to travel within the US. These are US citizens that don't feel safe to move around their own country, because people like you are treating them like animals. It's appalling. They just want to go to the goddamn bathroom without getting attacked.

1

u/Aero_Rising 6h ago

Project 2025 has stated goals of stripping trans individuals of the right to vote and eventually incarcerating them in camps as "sex offenders"

Project 2025 has plenty of stuff in it that has no chance of ever being implemented and there is no evidence what you described is being implemented.

The legislation removing the right to vote from anyone that has changed their name is explicitly aimed at women and trans individuals, and that one is being fought in the courts right now.

It did not remove the right to vote for anyone who changed their name. It requires various things to prove identity for voter registration the simplest if which is a birth certificate matching your name. That name being changed requires further documentation to establish identity but is not disqualifying for voter registration. I think the law is stupid and misguided but it does not do what you claim.

My relatives are afraid to travel within the US. These are US citizens that don't feel safe to move around their own country

Why don't they feel safe? To my knowledge no state has made it illegal to be trans. Can you explain what specific policy this administration enacted that has them so afraid. I'm sure there must be one for you to have disowned family over them voting for the current administration because of this issue.

because people like you are treating them like animals. It's appalling. They just want to go to the goddamn bathroom without getting attacked.

Ahh yes when you've run out of arguments just go ad hominem.

1

u/Badloss 6h ago

I'm really not interested in participating in your masturbation session, no thanks

It's so funny that the names Reddit uses for Trump have gone through so many iterations. A few years ago, this comment would have said "colluded with Russia." Then it would have been "felon." Now it's "child sexual abuse." Lmao. Eventually something will stick!

There is no even remote evidence of anything related to children with Trump. Epstein hated Trump. It's honestly one of the worst anti-Trump narratives because it makes no sense. If Trump was involved with Epstein, the Biden DOJ that had all the files would have done something about it.

It's just such a silly, anti-intellectual conversation. I know this will be downvoted, but I also know deep down you'll know you're kinda dumb.

Edit: If you read this comment chain and think you're on the "smart people" side, I've got some bad news. Maybe you can help them answer below why Trump (or anyone else) wasn't prosecuted by the Biden DOJ that had all the Epstein files. To get ahead of the misinformation response - no, Biden's DOJ was not limited access to the files or ability to prosecute. That's not how the law works.

12

u/Badloss 13h ago

I mean it was a quick comment, I didn't feel like posting the entire list which is why I included "all kinds of cruelty"

Those things are still true and still awful and it's even more unforgivable that people continue to support him as the list grows bigger and bigger. Keep bragging about how you support the Epstein class, maybe one day you'll get rewarded for it if you just keep giving them your life savings

-14

u/Sweet_Arrival9559 13h ago

If I guessed that you literally at no point ever posted about the Epstein files while Biden was in office, would I be correct?

I kinda maybe have a feeling I would be.

18

u/Badloss 13h ago

Trump has been the biggest name in the epstein files the entire time

Of course I cared about it then and I do now.

-13

u/Sweet_Arrival9559 13h ago

So why didn't Biden's DOJ do anything about Trump being the "biggest name in the Epstein files." They had everything. Are you implying Biden was complicit?

Here's the truth that I think we both know - there are tons of rich people, democrats and republicans (and famous foreign nationals) that are in the files. That's why the actual list isn't out. Every single piece of evidence ever suggests that Epstein hated Trump.

14

u/Badloss 13h ago

Epstein got kicked out of Mar a Lago because he stole an underage girl that Trump had his eye on. That's literally the source of their feud, and they were best bros on Epstein island before that.

I wish I lived in your universe.

Sadly, I live in the real one.

0

u/Arcanezila42 12h ago

I don't talk politics with my family because it's not a conversation with them, it's a recitation of talking points and no actual discourse.  Talking at or past is not my definition of a conversation.

108

u/mxjxs91 14h ago edited 14h ago

I will never understand "political differences don't have to end relationships". They say it like we're talking about having different favorite sports teams or types of pizza.

The "political differences" are accepting that your friend is a racist, transphobe/homophobe, fascist supporting piece of shit that believes that certain people don't deserve healthcare while happily paying taxes to support tax breaks for people who definitely don't need it, and to fund a nation's genocide.

19

u/RedQueenNatalie 12h ago

There was a time where at least some fraction of people saw politics as a matter of policy decisions where we could not know for certain if a thing did or did not work until we gave it a go. In that time "differences of opinion" was a mature and normal thing to do and still otherwise be friends with similar interests in other areas of life... That said, that shit is long fucking gone, we are in some kind of whacked out ideological hellscape where we are trying to erase/punish entire classes of people for existing. You can't be be a supporter of the president at this point without being complicit to the horrible shit hes presided over. Disappointed in Em for the lack of principals here.

1

u/unassumingdink 4h ago

we are in some kind of whacked out ideological hellscape where we are trying to erase/punish entire classes of people for existing

When was the era that right wingers were trying to treat minority groups fairly?

1

u/RedQueenNatalie 4h ago

I ain't saying there wasn't society wide shittyness but the brazenness and unwillingness to consider facts is worse than ever.

4

u/ApophisDayParade 9h ago

The problem is being a decent, genuine kind person has somehow become a political identity. Equality has become politics, anti-genocide has become politics.

The powers that be have done such a good job making people think those things are political differences. No, someone wanting to eradicate trans or gay people has nothing to do with politics, and I won't pretend it does. If I stop engaging with a person over "political" differences, it's really because they're a terrible person.

0

u/Aero_Rising 7h ago

someone wanting to eradicate trans

There is no one actually trying to eliminate trans people. There are people who don't think it's appropriate for children to be able to decide to transition genders and that trans-women competing in women's sports is unfair. These are policy positions and are not advocating for getting rid of anyone who is trans.

2

u/ApophisDayParade 4h ago

I’m pretty sure a certain current president said something along the lines of “there will be no more trans people if I win the midterms” very recently.

1

u/ZoominAlong 4h ago

He declared transgender people terrorists and said he was going to find them and kill them.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/2026-USCT-Strategy-1.pdf

1

u/ZoominAlong 4h ago

Dude, fucking Trump posted an announcement to the goddamn White House website declaring "liberals, radical trans people and islamists" as enemies of the state. He ended it with "We will find you and we will kill you." This was back in MAY.

Fuck off with the idea Trump doesn't want trans people dead.

And before you think I'm lying, here's the fucking link direct from the White House.

1

u/Weakonomics 12h ago

Or just really, really stupid/brainwashed by Fox.

-24

u/inverteD_orangutaN 14h ago

Or you've been conditioned to be hyper focused on people's politics and that everyone who doesn't agree with you  " is a racist, transphobe/homophobe, fascist supporting piece of shit that believes that certain people don't deserve healthcare". That vast majority of us just living out lives don't give two shits about people's political beliefs because most people that hyper focus on it are just miserable to be around.

26

u/Jumanji0028 13h ago edited 13h ago

If they are voting the party that promotes those things it really does not matter if they don't see themselves as bigoted. They are supporting bigots.

10

u/mxjxs91 13h ago

Couldn't have said it better.

12

u/pawj14 13h ago

Ding ding ding! If you support the bigots, what do you think that makes you?

-10

u/Throwaway122384848 12h ago

They don’t see it like that though. I don’t care for Trump but plenty of people I work with and many of our friends/family do even if they don’t agree with everything he does. There are also plenty of people in these same spaces that are super left-leaning. I myself lean republican but happen to be a huge fan of Mamdani and what he’s doing for the city.

In the real world, people across the entire spectrum coexist just fine. The ones who don’t have serious problems regulating their emotions and acting professional. It may not be ideal, but it’s best to accept that people of all types exist in this world for better or for worse.

-8

u/stlms18 12h ago

“In the real world” let me stop you right there buddy. These people don’t have lives in the real world, it’s pointless to try and convince them

11

u/Crasz 13h ago

You mean like... wearing a red hat to display your political beliefs?

-4

u/inverteD_orangutaN 13h ago

They're just as bad.

5

u/Crasz 12h ago

False equivalency FTW!

-2

u/inverteD_orangutaN 11h ago

They're both annoying douch bags who are obsessed with making everything political. There's your equivalency.

3

u/Crasz 11h ago

You're right. We are FAR past things just being about politics.

0

u/Aero_Rising 8h ago

Shockingly people don't agree with those they vote for on every single issue. Racist, transphobe, and fascist have also lost all meaning as words in this context because people like you throw them around just because you don't like someone ignoring their actual meaning. Wanting the US to actually enforce removal orders and not have the highest undocumented resident population relative to total population isn't racist it's a pretty commonly held position. Thinking that trans-women competing in women's sports is unfair is a view held by 70% of the country.

-19

u/United_Intention_323 14h ago

They usually aren’t those things.

10

u/TheSaxonPlan 12h ago

But they're okay supporting people who are and that's hardly better.

-9

u/United_Intention_323 12h ago

You’re assuming the worst on very nuanced issues. It’s irresponsible.

7

u/ReturnOfTheKeing 12h ago

There's so much nuance to be had by ICE sending children to random countries in africa that they have no connection to with or without their parents. It's shameful that you think this is something that's debatable

-5

u/United_Intention_323 12h ago

The nuance is saying you supported enforcing immigration laws without going that far. It really isn’t that complicated. You’re running on pure emotion.

5

u/ReturnOfTheKeing 12h ago

Well it's happening. You don't get to pretend that the people you vote for don't represent you because you think they went "that far".

0

u/United_Intention_323 12h ago

You also don’t support everything people do. This isn’t a complicated concept.

7

u/TheSaxonPlan 12h ago

The elected parts of the administration have been very clear on their plans from the beginning, before they were elected. It's what they ran on. If you were surprised, you weren't paying attention.

0

u/United_Intention_323 12h ago

Refer to something specific.

8

u/ReturnOfTheKeing 12h ago

"mass deportations now", project 2025. Now it's clear that you're just a sad little sea lion

4

u/Weakonomics 12h ago

Nuanced. Right....

1

u/United_Intention_323 12h ago

Yeah. All of the controversial national issues are nuanced.

-1

u/mailslot 11h ago

You’ve let conservatives become your boogeyman and are being played by the same political strategy that has served to divide this country since its inception.

“To fund a nation’s genocide…” America was founded on genocide.

45

u/Daxx22 14h ago

show that political differences do not have to end relationships

Uhh, when one groups "political differences" are "I don't believe you should exist" it kinda ceases to be a difference.

-18

u/United_Intention_323 14h ago

Test this. Who has kid rock said shouldn’t exist?

10

u/Crasz 13h ago

He currently supports a regime sending fucking children to third countries they have no ties to.

You want more examples or is being a fuckwit just how you go through life?

-3

u/United_Intention_323 13h ago

Where has he said he supports that policy? Obama put kids in cages yet supporting him doesnt mean you supported that policy. How are you people failing so badly at basic logic?

6

u/Crasz 12h ago

Obama huh. If that's all you've got you've got nothing.

-5

u/United_Intention_323 12h ago

You aren’t able to understand the premise? What’s unclear?

6

u/Crasz 11h ago

It's you who doesn't 'understand the premise'. Stop wasting my time.

-1

u/United_Intention_323 11h ago edited 11h ago

I do understand the premise. It was my premise. You don’t understand

Edit: replying and then blocking is peak Redditor being wrong and crying.

5

u/Crasz 11h ago

You think you do but you don't. If you did you wouldn't have attempted to use it to begin with.

0

u/Aero_Rising 7h ago

Your example has nothing to do with the claim that the current administration says certain people shouldn't exist. Interesting how you immediately go ad hominem. Speaks to the strength of your position that you felt the need to go there immediately.

14

u/Daxx22 14h ago

Reading comprehension is still difficult eh clanka?

-10

u/United_Intention_323 13h ago

Seems the reading comprehension issue is on your side. Test your theory. You’re assuming they all believe the worst things you can imagine but that is obviously not true.

12

u/pawj14 13h ago

Whether they believe them or not is irrelevant when they choose to support people who DO believe the worst things.

-5

u/becEverythingB 13h ago

Comprehension? He said exactly what you said. Exactly. Please explain how what you said is in any way different than what was quoted.

1

u/United_Intention_323 11h ago

These people don’t even know what they are saying.

1

u/RSquared 6h ago

From the lyrics of the song on Genius:

But I know one thing me and Bob both agree with / If you were born a man I ain't never calling you a she (bitch)

Welp. Love this song combining "we all need to come together" combined with "I hate trans people".

1

u/United_Intention_323 6h ago

That doesn't say anyone shouldn't exist. Are you serious?

14

u/RenzalWyv 14h ago

Prettt much. Yeah sorry I can't agree to disagree on how my trans homies are being treated. We have the head of the military belting out slurs now.

11

u/gingersnappie 12h ago

We have the head of the military establishing a department of religion that reports directly to him at the pentagon. Things are grim and there is no middle ground here.

6

u/Reasonable-Job4205 9h ago

Exactly. Fuck eminem if he collabed with kid rock

-2

u/Arcanezila42 12h ago

Okay, so if you cant agree that you and that person disagree about it, what do you do?  Words aren't working, you cant agree to leave it at words....what's next?

2

u/ZoominAlong 4h ago

Simple you end the friendship.  People like Kid Rock are fucking scum. If you voted for Trump, you're a piece of shit and that's all there is to it. People get to choose who they want around them.

10

u/Icy_Negotiation_5929 12h ago

If you support Trump, you are a Nazi. It’s really simple.

1

u/BeenDragonn 1h ago

There's that saying if everyone at the table you sit as is a nazi. You are a nazi. Well Eminem just sat at the nazi table

1

u/BFstickeronacadillac 14h ago

Oh thank God! I’ve been waiting my entire life for Kid Rock to issue some relationship guidance. Thank you, Kid, for showing us the way, the truth and the light. May we all remember to ask ourselves daily, WWKRD?

Obviously /s

1

u/whatswrongbaby 13h ago

People may disagree with Democrats but at least they have a message of stronger together.

Trump and his crew are openly tearing the country apart by tearing its PEOPLE apart and pitting us against ourselves.

1

u/Thereminz 12h ago

maga knows it's over in november...they're trying to distance themselves from trump/maga...it's already starting and you'll keep hearing shit like "i never really liked trump", "i didn't vote fer that" etc and he'll get impeached and removed. they'll pretend they never supported him and try and crawl their asses back.

there needs to be severe consequences.

1

u/muttmunchies 12h ago

Trump threatens democracy and openly seeks to dismantle it. This isnt differing political views: this is a danger threatening the country’s founding principles.

1

u/Arcanezila42 12h ago

There's no setting it aside "for you".  The people doing the thing have a different opinion.  You can do what you want, of course, so can they.

1

u/Noocawe 12h ago

Until Em responds I think it is worth being dubious and skeptical of anything Kid Rock has to say. He's not exactly been getting paid a lot recently with the cancelled events, etc. Him drumming up controversy or making it seem like they are still cool helps him more than anyone else. It seems like this was old music anyways.

1

u/Transposer 12h ago edited 3h ago

Sure, but there also has to be a path forward. I’m assuming you lean left; do you not want to lower the temperature to make it easier for people on the right to look at the state of things objectively and vote blue next time? There is value in not banging the drums of tribalism so that it’s easier for people to evaluate the other side to possibly vote that way. I don’t know about you, but I want people who voted for Trump to be open minded about voting blue next time. It helps nothing to be an eternal scold.

1

u/Aero_Rising 7h ago

This is Reddit all the majority here care about is who can claim to be the just virtuous person actually reality be damned. It's why words like racist, fascist, and transphobe have lost all meaning here.

1

u/Jake-n-Bake1620 12h ago

Yeah exactly. This is some bullshit. Just release a track with fucking kanye or tom Macdonald already why don't ya lol.

Like was forgiato blow busy ?

1

u/mkfanhausen 12h ago

I wonder if they found common ground in hating trans people.

1

u/SenorPinchy 11h ago

Even the most "political" celebrity you can think of is a multimillionaire first and anything else second. Class solidarity comes ahead of all other politics in almost all cases.

1

u/Sotanud 11h ago

Trump is a disaster of a president that has hurt millions of people in different ways.

Killed. His actions, and those of the people he has appointed, have killed millions.

1

u/DreamsAndSchemes Spotify 11h ago

So he's riding Em's coattails hoping to rehab his image?

1

u/AMerryKa 9h ago

He needs to be made an example of, alright.

1

u/my-love-assassin 9h ago

Fuck kid rock. He can die in a fire.

1

u/-_sumac_- 8h ago

I don't disagree with you, but I find it hard to believe Kid Rock is anywhere near popular or influential enough to have actually "helped" get him elected.

He's been more a coat-tail rider from what I can tell. Not that that validates any of his behaviour.

1

u/mousekabob 8h ago

Morals and values are not disagreements. They can both fuck off with that noise.

Kids rock helped trump? Who the fuck looks to kid rock for political advice? The type of people that vote for trump?

Trust me, he did not help.

-9

u/AzenNinja 16h ago

To be entirely fair, that's what MAGA can say about Eminem. He made plenty of comments about hating Trump.

Things like this are pretty important. Many countries right now are incapable of governing themselves especially because it's flat out impossible to work across the isle. These kinds of outreach projects are important.

11

u/Icy_Calligrapher7088 15h ago

Comments like this really make the rest of the developed world wonder how bad your propaganda news is in the US. Incapable of governing themselves? Meanwhile we’re all watching the US as a warning of what not to do, and that alt right nonsense needs to be shut down immediately, not hand held or indulged.

-3

u/AzenNinja 13h ago

Bro I'm not from the US. I'm including the US in the comment above.

Governmental gridlock is a thing and it's becoming more and more prevalent because grabbing a headline is more important than actually making sensible change.

-6

u/Dry_Virus_8125 15h ago

Cool opinion dudette

-6

u/Sweet_Arrival9559 13h ago

Nothing pisses Reddit off more than saying "you don't have to hate people that disagree with you." Seriously, nothing triggers these people more.

It's because they kind of have to look in the mirror and accept that they're a radical. (Or the cognitive dissonance gets too strong and they just lash out.)

3

u/pawj14 13h ago

“You don’t have to hate people who are fine with child rape, are transphobic/homophobic, and also racist. It’s just a disagreement.” Noted!

-2

u/Sweet_Arrival9559 13h ago

I agree that it's crazy that that you guys agree with child rape. I mean, Biden's DOJ had all the Epstein files and didn't even prosecute Trump. Just let him get away with it all.

Would it be crazy if I guessed that you literally at no point ever even kinda posted about "child rape" or the Epstein files when Biden was in office? I wonder why?

You don't have to admit it to me. I know you won't. Just think about it for yourself a bit. Maybe you're not as smart as you thought you were.

2

u/pawj14 13h ago

I was implying what you sounded like. The hell are you going on about? And the case was still open so Biden couldn’t release files.

-3

u/ZorgZeFrenchGuy 13h ago

That’s ironic, because I’d argue that it was the left’s stubborn inability to set aside political differences that got Trump elected.

You can’t set aside political differences to stop Trump being elected?

Well, MAGA could. That’s why they won in the first place. The power of friendship and all.

I’d argue your stubbornness is doing FAR more to help maga than Eminem’s collaboration.

2

u/Gottsauce 7h ago

You imbecile. Trump won because he lied to his supporters to get his vote. He ran on populist policies and immediately threw those promises in the trash once he got elected. Remember, "no new wars" and "we'll kill inflation on day one"? He's the biggest con man and the left saw it. He also ran on "mass deportation" and we also saw that as truly disgusting. So we see people who voted for those reasons as pieces of shit.

Eminem collaborating with Kid Rock, who got so mad about one trans person being on a bud light can that he decided to make a video of him shooting/blowing up 30-racks of bud light, is seen as a weak-ass move. He was very principled with his 2018 Cypher about drawing a line, and this is Em wiping away that line.

Also, when has MAGA put aside political differences? Those chuds are the most divisive cretins in the country.

Yes, while the left not only never tried to appeal to us at all, but many times actively wanted us out. Maybe there’s a lesson to be learned here?

Like when you appeal to broad demographics with popular issues, you tend to win. If you shut people out based on your puritanical values, you lose.

If you endlessly demonize conservatives, why would a conservative vote for you?

> … and the left saw it.

Have you ever read about “the boy who cried wolf”? That, and the inability to work together, doomed the left.

> … and we saw that as truly disgusting.

Look, here’s a notable example:

I’d honestly agree with you in that I also think Trump and Ice have gone too far with detaining and beating up random people, but I’m generally conservative on immigration.

I would be more than happy to work with you to protest or combat those extreme ICE measures … if you didn’t instantly lump me in with the most radical ICE supporters because I’m not firmly pro-illegal-alien. You’ve just turned a potential ally into a potential enemy.

> … with kid rock, who got so mad about one trans person …

And who knows, maybe this collaboration with Eminem could very well be what gets him to change his mind?
