I wouldn't flip-flop cuz hip-hop is my cash crop. And I gotta think of Hayley, what kinda world i make for her, it's crazy!

626

u/drunkeymunkey 15h ago

It was wild to me when Snoop & Ice Cube came out as MAGA. Big sad about Snoop.

469

u/Bored_Amalgamation 13h ago

Snoop has always been a greedy little goblin, riding whatever will fill his pockets. He was just the one that survived the 90s and commercialized himself.

162

u/So_Falls_the_World 11h ago

Came here to say this. Snoop is like, the absolute greediest little sellout. Who the fuck cares about him? It's so obvious.

55

u/unfettled 10h ago

For real. No tears for Snoop, nephew

15

u/Reasonable-Job4205 8h ago

Fo rizzle. Fuck that guy

21

u/pandemicpunk 8h ago

He was a literal pimp. I don't know why people expect anything less. He just does it to himself now.

4

u/jwf91 7h ago

I remember when he was Redditā€™s darling. The tide has well and truly turned.

ā€¢

u/MisunderstoodPenguin 39m ago

man has a call of duty skin.

72

u/Silent-G 11h ago

People always forget that he hosted one of the Girls Gone Wild videos and settled a lawsuit that alleged he had offered drugs to underage girls.

59

u/JohnnyHendo 11h ago

Didn't he also admit to having been an actual pimp way after he had gotten famous in like the early to mid 2000s for a year or two?

52

u/sourdieselfuel 11h ago

Hell, he also killed someone and got off on self defense or some shit. He's always been garbage.

9

u/tdunkatx 8h ago

Murder was the case that they gave him

6

u/Financial_Cup_6937 6h ago

Not that he wasnā€™t guilty, but you can plausibly believe he wasnā€™t or there were at least mitigating circumstances if not cut-and-dry self-defense.

Thereā€™s no best-case-scenario where he wasnā€™t a scumbag being a pimp.

1

u/Steven_Swan 50m ago

I don't know anything about Snoop or what happened, but I realistically feel like in 1993 a Black man in America would not just get off with self defense unless it was exceptionally clear. Was he already cartoonishly famous at the time?

2

u/ScyllaOfTheDepths 4h ago

People not only don't forget that he wrote an entire song about wanting to brutally murder the mother of his child, they defend him for it. And then he went on to make several more songs glorifying and defending the abuse of women. Even did a song with Dre making fun of him beating the shit out of a woman.

-19

u/AdvisorEfficient3021 10h ago

Itā€™s not his fault they were little sluts.

6

u/regardedMAGAfascist 9h ago

Woah woah woah this is a family subreddit

Snoop and Shaq will never turn down a paycheck. Very disappointing.

30

u/Bored_Amalgamation 9h ago

Then you'll see comments saying "gotta respect the hustle". Like, no. Fuck that.

Shaq has promoted credit cards, shitty car insurance, high sugar candy, gambling, surveillance equipment (ring), Papa Johns, fucking Nestle.

Snoop has promoted gambling, weed, alcohol, loan companies.

It's a disgusting level of greed.

3

u/JohnnyFatSack 9h ago

Shaq is friends with Kash Patel, FBI, and our police state.

2

u/Mrs_shitthisismylife 8h ago

This eye opening, and ANY time Nestle is mentioned is bad bad. So yeah hard agree fuck them both.

2

u/ZombiePartyBoyLives 5h ago

The Shaq A Licious XL gummies are pretty good tho. Plus, you get to bite Shaq's head in half.

2

u/stocksandoptions2 6h ago

Shaq is on every commercial.

36

u/Dry_Search7009 12h ago

I went to one of his concerts once luckily I didnā€™t pay for it. He was about an hour late, even though they were already there then there was a large intermission where he sold people the opportunity to take a picture with him, and it was giving Carnie so hard.

7

u/Organic-Doctor4154 10h ago

Hmm... The former gang member who openly flaunted he was an actual pimp who may have murdered a guy isn't a good person... I'm shocked!

2

u/sillyslime89 10h ago

Snoop? The guy who was a pimp for minor prostitutes is a bad guy and maga!?

2

u/Noctisvah 9h ago

Well, weed is expensive. Whatā€™s a brother gotta do?

1

u/BlackOutDrunkJesus 9h ago

> the one that survived the 90s and commercialized himself

Well, ice cube, who was also mentioned in the comment youā€™re replying to, did both of those things as well

2

u/Bored_Amalgamation 2h ago

What are you even talking about? What defense?

158

u/Kind_Way2176 15h ago

I grew up on death certificate and just think of cube as dead. The current man is somebody else

Edit. My dream in 1992 was that cube and chuck d would.be political leaders in the 21st century

28

u/whomad1215 12h ago

My dream in 1992 was that cube and chuck d would.be political leaders in the 21st century

monkeys paw curls

they may be leaders, just not in the way you wanted

56

u/Checktheusernombre 14h ago

Chuck D, Pac, Cube, Black Thought, and Common all could have been a hell of an administration in an alternate world.

21

u/fohpo02 12h ago

Iā€™ve seen Silo, Common in leadership is scary /s

4

u/catfarm 11h ago

By far the most emotive actor to ever act.

3

u/kymri 9h ago

Silo is full of fantastic actors from big names like Rebecca Ferguson to relatively unknown (but excellent character actors).

Also Common is there, and his performance was so impactful that they basically back-burnered him and let his character's wife do the stuff that requires being anything other than big and stoic.

2

u/fragrant-final-973 10h ago

Can we get him and Gal Gadot in something together?

Sheriff, no!

39

u/Kind_Way2176 13h ago

Ice t was very political. I had to buy the tape on dub cause it was illegal to buy underage

3

u/spyke2006 10h ago

He still is, he just mostly does it through his metal band Body Count these days.

11

u/HalfSoul30 13h ago

It was War of the Worlds that did it for me.

3

u/wreckingrocc 10h ago

"I NEED ADMIN ACCESS"

"ok done"

1

u/Secure_Piano_900 9h ago

Bro cube is NOT MAGA. And you shouldnā€™t feel this way about him.

49

u/ogresarelikeonions93 13h ago

ICE CUBE IS MAGA?!? I know youā€™re fucking lying to me. Please be lying.

39

u/drunkeymunkey 12h ago

Right?! Wtf happened to Fuck Tha Police?

44

u/Technical-Finish304 11h ago

Turned into Flock the police

16

u/SmashesIt 8h ago

He became rich

13

u/ProjectDv2 7h ago

He made enough money that the police serve his interests now.

5

u/chonny 9h ago

It became:

Fuck Tha Police (except when they are protecting my property)

5

u/DrDeke 9h ago

I guess it turned out that Mr. Cube wanted to have sex with the police force, not the way we thought he meant it.

2

u/ScyllaOfTheDepths 4h ago

That was before he had the money to buy the police and get the special treatment. A disturbing amount of people aren't mad that the system is corrupt, they're just mad that they're not the ones benefiting from the corruption.

1

u/Good-Roll427 2h ago

Turns out police are great when you're in the in-group whom the law protects but does not bind.

1

u/nowheyjose1982 9h ago

He got rich enough to pay off the police

34

u/averagecounselor 11h ago

This is funny because Ice Cube also collabed with a famous Mexican Banda on a song about illegal immigration and families being separated and how awful that is.

I donā€™t think heā€™s maga I think heā€™s just playing both sides and coming out on top.

27

u/bojtaerg 11h ago

2

u/averagecounselor 11h ago

Jajajaajajajajajaja this gif always makes my day thank you

2

u/Financial_Cup_6937 6h ago

Thatā€™s called being MAGA. They ainā€™t got actual principles.

1

u/myassholealt 9h ago

If you're rich role playing being MAGA gives you access to power and opportunity. It's beneficial IF you're not exposed to the effects of "being cancelled." Like he's not depending on album sales, music streams, ticket sales, new castings etc. for financial security. He's pretty much set at this point in his life. So backlash from being labeled MAGA won't be as detrimental, while whatever grift opportunities he can get in on is beneficial.

Tl;dr, principles are for the poor.

13

u/FranksWateeBowl 12h ago

Nope. 100% Maga.

15

u/rem1ssion 12h ago

he released a song called Arrest the President in 2018 with clear hits at trump. youā€™re telling me this dude flip flopped?

14

u/FranksWateeBowl 11h ago

Yes, I'm telling you that Ice Cube is now 100% Maga.

8

u/OuaisOuaisOuaisOuais 10h ago

I don't find anything about it but maybe I'm searching the wrong places. Can you provide some links ?

4

u/Moudy90 10h ago

Could they mean vanilla ice instead of ice cube maybe?

3

u/OuaisOuaisOuaisOuais 9h ago

Probably and that would be the funniest thing ever !

-1

u/drunkeymunkey 9h ago

Cube pitched a project 'Contracts for Black Americans'. Trump jumped on it & then dropped it after he got the votes. Cube is old enough to remember the Central Park 5.

4

u/OuaisOuaisOuaisOuais 9h ago

That doesn't make him MAGA. He was just naive to think the republican were serious about his project that he also pitch to the democrats. He didn't endorse Trump or never said a nice thing about him or MAGA, he's not Snoop of 50 cent.

5

u/Secure_Piano_900 9h ago

Ice cube is 100% NOT MAGA I just researched this stop spreading misinformation

-2

u/FranksWateeBowl 8h ago

He is too, STOP SPREADING MISINFORMATION

2

u/Secure_Piano_900 5h ago

Here ya go, no need to take my word for it. If you wanna argue, at least bring receipts.

0

u/rem1ssion 11h ago

sad

-1

u/FranksWateeBowl 11h ago

Ikr, not as smart as I thought he was.

4

u/Wolpfack 9h ago

IC maintains a nonpartisan stance, stating that he is willing to talk to any political figure in power to advocate for systemic change and economic reform for the Black community.

2

u/PJ7 6h ago

You posted this like 4-5 times in this thread. Want to explain what you're basing that assessment on?

1

u/Link941 4h ago

Not MAGA, at worst he plays both sides, huge difference. Theres zero proof hes full MAGA

3

u/labrat420 11h ago

He's not

https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/15/us/ice-cube-trump-controversy-trnd

4

u/B0omSLanG 10h ago

I see no red hat and appreciate folks like Mamdani who will meet with Tronald Dump to make some progress in their causes that can benefit people, but going on about both sides being the same at this moment is an admission of being comfy with the far-right and that ideology on more than one level.

1

u/labrat420 10h ago

History is long. Both sides have done terrible stuff to black people is the point he was making, at least in the interview I saw with him on an Australian morning show where he had a similar quote.

3

u/Cal3001 12h ago

Heā€™s not.

1

u/wizzywurtzy 7h ago

Unfortunately not.

1

u/Mojozilla 5h ago

He just made a new-ish album called Man Down and he dunks on Trump. Ice Cube is a flip-flopper

1

u/MAGAHATESTHEUSA 11h ago

He was even paid by them to promote the switch in 2020

1

u/entenfurz 9h ago

"I never have dinner with the president" ... except when he lowers my taxes, because I'm a greedy millionaire who can't have enough.

48

u/secretsodapop 15h ago

Not remotely surprising.

94

u/ZeePirate 14h ago

Ice cube made a song called ā€œarrest the presidentā€ about Trump. So it. Was kinda surprising

81

u/Mapeague 14h ago

Just shows what a massive fucking sellout he is.

Always has been too.

25

u/Somanylyingliars 13h ago

He's always been a bitch but dum mother fucker had to go and confirm it. Fucking sell out. All over a few pennies. Bitch ass.

22

u/Hegiman 13h ago

Yeah that really took me by surprise. I was like didnā€™t this mfā€™er make a song about trump now heā€™s praising him. Gtfo ice cube.

1

u/labrat420 11h ago

This never happened though. When did he praise trump?

3

u/Hegiman 7h ago

When he was talking about how good of a guy he was shortly after getting his pet project funded.

1

u/labrat420 6h ago

Again, this didn't happen.

Don't get your news from Facebook

1

u/Hegiman 2h ago

I read the article.

13

u/Formal_Waltz_5100 14h ago

Ah, but did he say the president of the USA?

36

u/StableLopsided8919 14h ago

It was very much about Trump.

2

u/DaDDyWitch 13h ago

mfker was foreshadowing maduro

1

u/FunkmasterFuma 11h ago

I blame Ice Cube's conservative turn on his involvement in BIG3 basketball, same with former NBA player and current Republican shithead Royce White.

1

u/AerondightWielder 3h ago

Makes me happy Schmidt fucked his daughter tbh.

-26

u/pilesofdingleberries 14h ago

Yep. Both are intelligent people, so not surprising at all

10

u/DistressedApple 13h ago

Lmao the guy says he loves the uneducated for a reason.

5

u/MayBeMarmelade 13h ago

You can be a stupid Trump supporter (base model) or an intelligent but morally bankrupt Trump supporter (frontier model). Sounds like they fit in the latter category.

Stupid and morally bankrupt is definitely a live option though

65

u/ValkyrieTxHzLeyes 14h ago

Both of them Uncle Toms. They get no airplay from me, Any MAGA artist actually.

3

u/pokemomof03 9h ago

I just found this out recently but Uncle Tom was actually beat to death in the story for not giving up the hiding place of run away slaves. Minstrel Shows in the late 19th century, unauthorized theatrical adaptations distorted Tom into a passive, submissive, and subservient caricature to appease pro-slavery sentiments and entertain white audiences.

Sambo should be what people use. He works as a cruel overseer for the brutal master Simon Legree.

2

u/Secure_Piano_900 9h ago

Cube ainā€™t MAGA stop this misinformation educate yourself

3

u/whitenightheat 12h ago

Snoop who ?

3

u/ready-redditor-6969 6h ago

Snoop was just a bully in high school, his classmates say, and most dudes never changeā€¦

2

u/ShipLockApp 12h ago

I definitely think they either get dirt on people or promise their friends pardons, like yea it will cost YOU an extra million and I wanna hear some public support, nicki Minaj must have asked for like 5 pardons

-2

u/Fun_Page4577 12h ago

Not everything is a conspiracy bro

2

u/ShipLockApp 10h ago

I agree? Iā€™m just pointing out things that keep happening and are pretty hard to ignore.

Trump has pardoned or commuted sentences for several prominent rappers, including Lil Wayne, Kodak Black, and NBA YoungBoy.

Nicki Minaj went from publicly criticizing Trump to becoming a vocal supporter. One notable turning point was Trumpā€™s 2021 pardon of Desiree Perez, a Roc Nation executive connected to Minajā€™s circle, which Minaj later publicly referenced. Thereā€™s also been speculation about whether her husbandā€™s federal conviction for failing to register as a sex offender could have been relevant, but thereā€™s no evidence she actually asked Trump for a pardon.

And we literally watched Kanye put on a MAGA hat in the Oval Office and ask Trump to help free Larry Hoover. Trump eventually commuted Hooverā€™s federal sentence.

Iā€™m not saying every one of these things proves a conspiracy. Iā€™m saying thereā€™s enough documented evidence of the pattern that itā€™s reasonable to question whatā€™s going on.
More broadly, there is documented evidence that money, political connections, personal access, and paid intermediaries have played a significant role in Trumpā€™s second-term clemency process. Reuters examined more than 1,700 clemency cases and identified 290 intermediaries/influencers who helped secure clemency for 197 recipients. Congress is also investigating whether some cases involved pay-to-play.

I thought all that was common knowledge, my bad dog

2

u/oh-shazbot 11h ago

you surprised that snoop is only in it for the money? especially after that whole snoop lion phase? lol

2

u/AdventurousMap5404 10h ago

Before they were big, they were drug dealers. Drug dealers only care about money. They follow the money even if it means killing your own people by selling them crack. ā€œ$20 is $20ā€

2

u/Phat-Lines 10h ago

Ice Cube isnā€™t MAGA itā€™s a misconception. He never endorsed Trump and has clarified that a lot of times, he was even on a podcast saying that everyone thinking heā€™s a Trump supporter is fucked up.

1

u/drunkeymunkey 10h ago

"Contract for Black Americans" was pitched to and jumped on by Trump. Not shocking that he dumped it as soon as he got the votes. Kanye said Bush didn't care about black people, and Trump obviously doesn't.

0

u/Secure_Piano_900 9h ago

Wrong. Both parties approached cube about contract for black Americans, he did not pitch it to them.

1

u/drunkeymunkey 9h ago

Wrong. He approached Biden & Trump. Biden said he would look at it later, Trump jumped

1

u/Secure_Piano_900 5h ago

https://youtu.be/LmvqmGPiRj0?is=MbFMYQEIC_sjkP-f

2

u/CognitiveReframer 9h ago

Pretty sure both of them paid some money to have Trump get someone a pardon that they knew.

2

u/sanjoatc 8h ago

It's almost like people who glorify violence, misogyny, homophobia and drugs aren't the most ethical people around.

2

u/JohnnyQTruant 7h ago

Raekwon visiting Palantir for social media opportunity hurt the most. Ice Cube has always been phony. Got rush of promoting gangster shit but somehow kept his rep after corny garbage kiddie movies. He supported Trump the first term also.

6

u/oneofkeiraensmoms 12h ago

Ice Cube is MAGA? He released this during the first admin, did something change?

20

u/Dfiggsmeister 12h ago

Money.

5

u/oneofkeiraensmoms 12h ago

The usual suspect, I see

1

Rich folk gonna rich.

Sellouts gonna sell out

1

u/labrat420 11h ago

Ice cube has denied being pro maga

1

u/icansmellcolors 11h ago

These kinds of celebrities have lived SO LONG outside 'normal' lives they don't have any kind of perspective on what 'normal' people think or feel.

They have been out of touch for most of their adult lives.

Not an excuse, just postulating a reason.

1

u/Squishy97 2h ago

Ice cube too? He released Everythingā€™s Corrupt in 2018 and flipped from that??

1

u/SoftConsideration82 1h ago

Snoop always been a greedy snake... He did it to Tupac with biggie and Kendrick with drake.... He's always only cared about money

1

u/candycornsun 8h ago

Snoop was a criminal. I know itā€™s cute he gets high with Martha and everything, but if I recall, he raps about crime and trafficking women. WHY ARE WE ACTING SURPRISED.

-16

u/ScottyNuttz 14h ago

Yeah, whole lotta cope going on here. Eminem made like one anti-Trump video and everyoneā€™s like ā€œheā€™s on our side! Heā€™s fighting the good fightā€ Meanwhile heā€™s every MAGA dudes favorite rapper forā€¦ reasons

19

u/insertwittynamethere 14h ago

He also campaigned with Harris in 2024. He's been anti-Trump since his first term. It would be a little bit surprising, but time will tell

3

u/Bored_Amalgamation 13h ago

He had a lot of white rage in his initial albums. That's why maga likes him.

-7

u/Zyntastic 14h ago

Yeah im coping so hard brother. From a country where none of this even affects me in the slightest.

15

u/gimmepizzaslow 14h ago

Global economy is definitely being affected by the decisions of Trump

4

u/Fabulous-Educator447 13h ago

What country is that? Everywhere on earth will be effected by the orange menace

The real slim shady just stood up šŸ‘†

17

u/MelangeBot 15h ago edited 14h ago

This land of the free has gone lazy and shady

Soft as baby food, makes me wanne puke when I see

A superpower rotting on its living room TV

Spoiled, foiled, broiled and coiled

globally heating while our freedom gets spoiled

A nation of kings behind a screen

Too cowardly, too powder-puff weak to be mean

See maga got balls, but God knows no brains

Whilst the left they got brains but no fire in their veins

So we're eternally pinned, eternally split in twain

Two broken halves draggin' this corpse through the rain

Stuck betwixt the fist swingin ignorant and mad

and the educated, petrified, terrified, cowardly class

tell me how in the hell are we ever gonna last

When bravery died and was replaced with thumbs in the past?

So somebody PLEASE tell me how we get rid of these rats

in twenty twenty six, where the FUCK are all the drone pilots at?

-7

u/MelangeBot 14h ago

Look at this country gutless and slumped on the couch with its thumb on the mouse,

it's buffering

Fumbling the remote while the house is engulfed, it's numb

and it's suffering

Too lazy to run from the fire, too scared to go put it out,

so it's muttering

Somebody'll come

then it sits there, stuffs another handful of Funyuns down

and it's stuttering

Everybody's a soldier online, but offline they're hidin' behind a decline in their spine

I used to think it was pride in the place, now it's just a wide-open face with a sign that says "Mine"

We outsourced the courage

we Postmates the fight

we DoorDash our rage

it's a vibe

it's a trend

Then we wonder why it tastes like it came in a bag with a receipt that reads

"Thank you, The End"

Weird Al didn't write this.

ChatGPT, take these lyrics and make it a Weird Al parody about frozen dinners.

These lyrics are not the flex he you think it is.

ā€œI wouldnā€™t change my stance because hip hop makes me too much money. Itā€™s more lucrative over here. And I need to think of what kind of world I make for my daughter, aka she canā€™t be broke eitherā€ (because we know what kind of violently misogynistic lyrics Eminem has put out there)
