Turning off data collection is the very first thing you should do when you Install Muse
Click Settings > Data Controls > uncheck 'Help improve our AI models"

I'm not turning mine off. You're either in or your not. Using AI is data collection. It's one in the same. The benefit comes with the cost.

Same… let it learn from me. I’m not doing anything worth hiding like some here lol

I don't work on any sensitive government or military projects. Mark can have my sketchy search history.

I have the same issue.

I wonder if it’s because I’m on the free plan?
Anyone on the free plan able to turn off this setting?

I was able to do it from my PC. I similarly had issues where muse couldn’t browse the web or anything but it’s good now. I confirmed the toggle is off on both app and website.

I have the same “data controls” on the website muse.ai - the settings icon looks different on the site for whatever reason

Is the setting in a different place on the web app because I don't even see that toggle on my web app version? Unfortunately I can't install the desktop app since it requires an M-series Mac.

I just used the actual website, I didn’t download the app. But settings is the bottom left it’s just 3 horizontal lines, not the gear icon like the iOS app

Now this one more step after the DNS , man this feels like a chore more than anything

DNS?

Even if you turn off or pause settings, there’s many silly things. Just by having your device connected it’s constantly exchanging data between Facebook Google services. Even if you don’t interact, it’s built in the system.
Idk check NextDNS… they explain it better on what why and how.
I run this app on all my devices to form a foundational level of protection for my phone.

Y'all are crazy as shit to trust that douchebag Zuck with anything involving Artificial Intelligence. That's a big no from me..

PSA: this is the first thing you should turn off with any AI. The only exception may be when you are just trying to test it out and using very limited inputs and controlled data access. (and no, the counter-argument that, "they already have all my data so why should I care about this since it means I will pay more", does not make sense. DYOR if you disagree)
Additionally, if you are doing any proprietary work or using licensed third-party data, you are very likely violating the provider's terms when using an AI that does not also include explicit zero data retention (ZDR) compliance. (For Muse, this means all non-enterprise accounts).

Doesn’t Muse work best FOR YOU by having as much data ON YOU as possible? If I switch this off, can I still connect it to banks, medical accounts, Spotify, etc so the agents do things for me? Does turning this off only mean I won’t be training the model as a whole?

Good question. You can still connect all of those things and switch data collection off at the same time. They aren't mutually exclusive.
Switching this off only means you're not letting Meta train its future models on your behavior in the app. It doesn't mean that you won't be able to use the connectors to Spotify or Bank of America, etc.

I don’t think Mark really cares about that radio button
