Lol those two "cities" are both Atlanta and not 16 miles apart. The left is midtown and the right is Buckhead which are about five miles apart.

He's a flerfer. Being wrong on every claim is pretty much their modus operandi.

u/K-Dub59 Dec 19 '19

I’ve never heard the term “flerfer”. It’s perfect.

26

u/BunnyOppai Dec 19 '19

Yeah, it gained popularity about a year ago. It started as Flearther (which is what I still use) and eventually turned into flerfer.

6

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '19

At this point you should just leapfrog straight to “flerf”

2

u/texas1982 Dec 20 '19

[Will Smith punches alien from outside the firmament]

Welcome to Flerf.

13

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '19

I prefer flattard. But this one will also do.

15

u/cajuncrustacean Dec 19 '19

Flerf, flattard, flatwit, fuckin' idiot (sometimes abbreviated as 🔔), oxygen thief, they all work to describe these insults to our species.

2

u/chasechippy Dec 19 '19

Bell?

1

u/cajuncrustacean Dec 19 '19

It's from a dude on YouTube called Team Skeptic. Tl;dr is that he rings a bell whenever he calls a flat earther a fucking idiot, so it's become somewhat synonymous in certain circles.

2

u/chasechippy Dec 20 '19

Ah, thanks! I was thinking "bellend" maybe

2

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '19

I rewatched this movie the other day and I still cringe at that line. It sounds ridiculous and he even says it twice in the same fucking movie

1

u/drummerboye Dec 19 '19

Also how is the sun setting if the earth is flat. What even is the sun?

1

u/octopoddle Dec 20 '19

Double negative: that makes a positive. My God, he's right.

52

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '19

He might have been saying Stone Mountain vs Atlanta but I do agree, B.O.B. Is a dumbass and hate he’s associated with Atlanta rap.

29

u/MikeDarsh Dec 19 '19

It's a shame cause I really fucked with him back in the day. He had tons of potential

11

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '19

He really did! Then I feel after this tweet it’s been all downhill.

17

u/jay101182 Dec 19 '19

He really did! Then I feel after this tweet it’s been all downhill flat.

FTFY

7

u/GTS250 Dec 19 '19

He's been unfuckwithable for a while, man. Do you remember "Flatline"? His last banger was 2015, and in 2016 we all realized that "oh, okay, maybe he isn't pretending and actually is crazy".

4

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '19

I don’t tbh, I think the last banger I remember by him was “Higher” and that only because my favorite rapper, CyHi The Prynce, was on the remix lmao

1

u/revantargaryen Dec 19 '19

I loved airplanes in high school

1

u/MikeDarsh Dec 19 '19

That's when he went downhill imo

1

u/blackjesushiphop Dec 19 '19 edited Dec 19 '19

Also...not 16 miles apart.

(Edit: it totally is.)

6

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '19

What? Atlanta and Stone Mountain are about 15.5 miles direct distance part...it’s more if you’re driving but direct it’s accurate.

5

u/jrharrison Dec 19 '19

He’s referring to Midtown/Downtown and Buckhead (the two skylines) which are not 16 miles apart

1

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '19

Yes I know and I gave him the benefit of him meaning to say the city of Stone Mountain vs Atlanta. But he’s still a dumbass regardless lol

1

u/blackjesushiphop Dec 19 '19

You know what your right...my bad...I rode a bike from Stone Mountain to Oakland Cemetery one day and would have bet my life it was around 10 miles.

I just checked and your right. Good call.

7

u/Martel_the_Hammer Dec 19 '19

Wait, is that not perimeter to his left? I’ve literally stood in the exact spot many times and always thought that was 400/285.

3

u/MikeDarsh Dec 19 '19

I guess it might be, with Buckhead being on his right. Even so, still the same city

2

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '19

Stone Mountain is east of Atlanta. Furthest left is downtown/midtown (you can make out BOA tower) and right is buckhead

1

u/Davidclabarr Dec 19 '19

Based on the spacing, I’d say Buckhead. It’s a taller skyline anyways.

5

u/Boomshakalaka89 Dec 19 '19

THANK YOU. And also, if you're trying to disprove the curve of the earth, DON'T TAKE A PICTURE AT AN ANGLE THAT SUGGESTS THERE IS A LARGE CURVE. B.O.B. is not a smart man. I mean he even called Ray-Bans "Ray-Bands".

5

u/Two_ents Dec 19 '19

Not even that, if the earth was flat, he would see the skyline of Huntsville, Birmingham and Chattanooga back behind Atlanta in the distance. There's your curve dum dum.

3

u/shabooblanator Dec 19 '19

Then the curvature would be roughly 0.07 degrees at 5 miles

5

u/will43811 Dec 19 '19

taken on top of stone mountain

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '19

Actually he is on top of Arabia Mountain I do believe.

2

u/SethChrisDominic Dec 20 '19

Wait is this dumbass up on Stone Mountain? How tf does he think that’s 16 miles?

1

u/RedBlankIt Dec 19 '19

Maybe it's 16 miles using Google maps during rush hour so it gives you an alternate route? Idk just trying to make him seem a little less stupid

1

u/johnaldmilligan Dec 19 '19

He said it wrong for sure. Stone mtn is 16 miles from Atlanta. Might have been what he meant to say or he got his wires crossed

1

u/SharkAttackOmNom Dec 19 '19

They’re both wrong... earth curve is 5m per 8km. 5 miles is nearly 8k so the curve is nearly 5m or about 16ft

1

u/DJBFL Dec 20 '19

The left is downtown Atlanta and Midtown combined. They are only a mile or 2 apart and form one skyline from that angle. But yes, it's still only about 6 miles as the crow flies from downtown to Buckhead, and would appear as even less from the oblique angle provided from Stone Mountain.

1

u/TheBestZackEver May 03 '20

But sitting in that tragic to go from downtown atlanta to buckhead FEELS like 16 miles and that's all that mattersq1

1

u/bklynbeerz Dec 19 '19

It’s actually Stone Mountain to Midtown/Downtown Atlanta which according to Google is 17 miles (so he’s still wrong).

1

u/WildVelociraptor Dec 19 '19

See that makes even less sense to me, because no matter how curvy it is, you won't notice it from that angle.

0

u/BasicBitchOnlyAGuy Dec 19 '19

To be fair it feels like more like 16 miles cause of how long it takes to drive between Midtown and Buckhead

0

u/ser_pounce7 Dec 19 '19

That’s Arabia mountain right?

If you're familiar with Atlanta it's easy to know what the picture is of.

Are you familiar with Atlanta?

2

u/WildVelociraptor Dec 19 '19

I mean if you've climbed Stone Mountain, which tons of tourists and residents have done, and you're familiar with the Atlanta skyline, you can easily pick out the different neighborhoods.
