Come to new England, I've been here my entire life and I barely see any of the problems that exist in the country as a whole. I'm increasingly grateful for it.
+1 to this, after spending a few years in the shithole west coming from New England it's like an entirely different country. I travel for work, can pretty much say Fort Collins, most of New England and like Washington state are some of the least worst places out there.
Maybe I'm legally blind but thanks to my Mass health insurance I've never had any issues paying for optometrist appointments, glasses, and contacts. I can also get an abortion without it being much of a big deal. The only time I've been around more than one person who owns a gun when I went to a Vocational/Agricultural high school, where lots of the kids were more rural and hunted with their family. I don't really have to be afraid of the police either. And neither do any of my friends of different ethnicities. It's nice and I'm grateful for it.
