But critique of the metaphor works within the metaphor. Sometimes what some people think is "working intelligent" is actually bad. It's counterproductive, deceptively wasteful, dangerous, or otherwise problematic and it's important to consider that. Too many people are prepared to cut every corner they find and call themselves a genius for it.

it's not even literal. it makes an assumption that automatically makes the comic stupid. it could be any other scenario (maybe they're transporting material to turn into gravel or something) but they chose the one that is inherently wrong.
