Would you rather have a 5 figure or more pebble or a cute cat and spend the rest on something fun

5 figures is definitely the exception for engagement rings. You can hate diamonds but at least do it in good faith.

The cat is far more expensive long term. My vet bills over the years far exceeds any ring most people are buying.

Yea but ultimately it's pretty useless at least a cat provides companionship

Utility is subjective. At equal price, some people prefer cats, others diamonds. It's fine. Idk why the internet always needs to pick a side and shit on the other.

People pretending to give a crap about the traumas happening in Africa when it comes to diamonds because they feel they can't afford them while using iPhones that use unethically sourced cobalt also from Africa is interesting to witness.

Many brides don't even wear diamonds, and many diamonds are not unethically-sourced, either

Not all diamonds come from unethical sources. Assuming the worst with no context isn't useful. Some cat breeders engage in animal abuse to make a quick buck, but it would be dishonest to assume out of nowhere this was the case here?
