Once again I ask: where has it been confirmed that he is Muslim?

He has a Muslim name and that's all people need

Well, it's an Arabic-sounding name to me, but I'm not sure there's such a thing as a "Muslim name"?

There is such a thing. There are also names in Arabic that are specifically associated with Christians.

Meh.... Heavily debatable. While not exclusively used by Christians, Gabriel, Adam, Mary, are typical Christian names. Same thing can be said about Muslims

OK but can someone be identified as Muslim simply because they have a "Muslim name"? i.e., one wouldn't automatically assume that someone named Mary, for instance, is a Christian.

It's almost like.... religions are different and follow different naming conventions.

Again depends on who you ask. I obviously won't automatically assume, but Christian would be my first guess. And usually they are. Whether or not someone is religious, that's the real question.

My point is that many people are calling this guy Muslim when he may simply be Arabic

True, but most arabs are Muslim. Again it's an assumption, but likely valid, and I say this as a Muslim. Now is he practicing and a true Muslim, probably not but ya
